Business Analyst (Digital Policy)
Our client in the public sector is seeking a Business Analyst to support our public sector client's team. This role will provide business modelling services to deliver on the Technology group's 2025 Top 7 strategic priorities and help the division organize itself for operational and financial sustainability.

Duties
1. Understanding Business Objectives:
Business Modelling: Ensure that business models align with Technology Services objectives and support the overall business strategy
 
2.Developing Business Models:
•            Conceptual Models: Create conceptual models that represent the business structure, processes, and relationships
•            Operational Models: Develop operational models that detail how the business operates on a day-to-day basis
•            Financial Models: Integrate financial aspects into business models to assess profitability, cost structures, and revenue streams
 
3. Analyzing Business Processes:
•            Process Mapping: Map out existing business processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement
•            Process Optimization: Design optimized processes that enhance productivity and efficiency
 
4. Eliciting Requirements:
•            Gather Requirements: Collect requirements from stakeholders through interviews, workshops, and surveys
•            Document Requirements: Translate requirements into detailed documentation that can be used for model development
 
5. Validating and Testing Models:
•            Model Validation: Ensure that business models accurately represent the business and meet stakeholder needs
•            Scenario Testing: Test models under various scenarios to assess their robustness and reliability
 
6. Stakeholder Communication:
•            Facilitate Communication: Act as a liaison between stakeholders, including management, IT teams, and end-users.
•            Present Models: Present business models and findings clearly to stakeholders to ensure understanding and buy-in
 
7. Continuous Improvement:
•            Monitor Performance: Continuously monitor the performance of business models and make adjustments as needed.
•            Feedback Loop: Establish a feedback loop to gather insights and improve models over time
 
Additional Requirements:
•            Provides strategic advice and support in areas such as contracted services, management control tools and reporting, performance measurement, performance data reporting, best practices and program and service review.
•            Evaluates and provides recommendations on financial alternatives, cost benefit analysis and business case preparation for divisional business and operational service interests.
•            Reviews, analyzes and provides recommendations on existing and potential service provision from a business viewpoint including financial implications, staffing and other resources.
 
Qualifications
It is important that the Services be undertaken by a Business Analyst who can demonstrate specific knowledge of, and experience in performing similar work for projects of comparable nature, size and scope as detailed below.
 
Qualifications and Experience:
•            BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, Information Systems Management, Computer Science or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
•            Demonstrated experience in Oracle, SQL or SAP database systems technologies
•            Advanced proficiency using various Microsoft Office desktop products
•            Strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills (written and oral)
•            Demonstrated ability in IT analysis methodologies (e.g., process flow definition, data flow diagramming)
•            Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, customers and other IT Personnel
•            Ability to perform cost-benefit analysis, trending, forecasting, and financial analysis
•            Ability to lead effective meetings that are tailored to the audience

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$70.00 and CA$90.00
