Job Title: Business Analyst
Duration: 6 months +
Location: Toronto (2x a week on site)
Description of Assignment
Business Analyst will plan, manage, and lead the delivery of detailed business requirements and technical and functional specifications that align to standards and frameworks.
The Business Analyst’s main tasks will include performing detailed requirements analysis and documenting processes. The Business Analyst should have a natural analytical way of thinking and be able to explain difficult concepts to non-technical users.
Assignment Duties
• Documenting business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions. Updating, implementing, and maintaining procedures.
• Staying current with the latest developments in cybersecurity compliance and incorporate this knowledge into the documentation process.
• Writing and proofreading technical reports, policies, procedures, and other documentation related to cyber compliance activities.
• Leading ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies.
• Conducting meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings.
• Performing requirements analysis.
• Documenting and communicating the results of your efforts.
• Effectively communicating your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.
• Gathering critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and producing useful reports.
• Working closely with clients, technicians, and managerial staff. Serving as a liaison between stakeholders and users.
• Ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements.
• Prioritizing initiatives based on business needs and requirements.
• Collaborating with cybersecurity teams, project managers, and subject matter experts to gather information and develop technical reports that meet compliance requirements.
Experience and Qualifications
1. A bachelor’s degree in business or related field or an MBA
2. 5+ years demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst in large, complex projects.
3. 5+ years demonstrated experience in developing various Business Requirement Documents.
4. 5+ years demonstrated experience in developing Functional Specifications and Use Cases.
5. Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.
6. Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
7. Extensive experience in creating workflows
8. Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
9. Ability to achieve business objectives through influencing and effectively working with key stakeholders.
10. Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
11. Excellent written & verbal communication/presentation skills. Comfortable & confident communicating at all levels including business partners, leadership and vendors.
12. Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent.
13. Agile or Scrum certification is a plus.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$40.00 and CA$65.00
