Position Title: Business Analyst – IT
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
Estimated Duration: 6 months

Story Behind the Need
Business group: Technology Program Management & Transformation – team that manages cloud data integration and governance for IB, providing efficient and standardized solutions that enable different business areas to access and use data securely and effectively.

Project: International Banking – Data Migration and Transformation to Cloud
Mission: To develop and maintain a cloud platform that integrates data from various sources, standardizes processes, and facilitates data publication for consumers and producers, ensuring quality, security, and accessibility.
Scope: The primary objective of this project is to design and implement a unified cloud data platform for IB across different countries.
Impact: Efficient ingestion of data from multiple on-premises sources to the cloud.
Data transformation and standardization into organized layers (landing and standardization zones).
Rapid data delivery for bank teams requiring reports, indicators, or advanced analysis.
Incorporation of reusable data products for transversal consumption across the organization.
The project prioritizes agility in delivery, enabling tactical solutions (quick, connected to local sources) when necessary, while promoting progressive advancement toward fully cloud-based strategic solutions.

Detail-oriented and business-driven Business Analyst with a strong background in data discovery, cross-functional collaboration, and analytical reporting. Proven ability to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions by translating complex requirements into actionable insights. Skilled in identifying data-driven opportunities, enhancing business processes, and enabling informed decision-making across organizational levels. Require a Business Analyst to support the project, which has complex requirements to build insights on Commercial customers across multiple geographies in International Banking.
Experienced in working with SMEs, data engineers, and stakeholders across diverse domains, with a solid foundation in data analytics, process optimization, and modern reporting tools. Adept at managing end-to-end analysis workflows in Agile and hybrid environments, with a strong focus on accuracy, clarity, and delivery impact

Typical Day in Role:

  • Works with key stakeholders within all business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies.
  • Gathers requirements from business units and translates those to programmers and developers.
  • Prepares cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to aid in decisions on system implementation.
  • Demonstrates an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities. Supports one or more highly complex business processes.
  • Works on multiple projects as a project team member
  • Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a focus on technical projects and requirement gathering.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum.
  • 8-10 years of experience working with SQL, Visio, and Excel.
  • Spanish/English mandatory as they will be communicating with stakeholders in the Caribbean and Latin America.
  • Experience in Google Cloud Platform

Nice-To-Have Skills:

  • Any process certification, such as Six Sigma, IIBA (International Institute of Business Analysis) CBPP, BPM, ISO 20000, ITIL, CMMI.
  • 2 years of experience with Power Bi.
  • Experience with requirements management tools, such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar.

Soft Skills Required:

  • Strong business analysis and requirement-gathering skills.
  • Strong PC skills including knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible/adaptable in exercising judgment in a changing environment and to manage competing priorities.
  • Proven ability to learn business processes quickly and work well with business partners at different organizational levels.
  • Exceptional leadership skills to review processes and procedures to create efficiencies, eliminate duplication and provide organizational support to achieve business objectives.
  • Strong relationship management with an ability to establish productive relationships between various leaders, departments and partners across the organization.
  • Well-developed communication skills, including precise articulation of ideas and opinions to prepare detailed business cases and proposals.
  • Solutions-oriented and ability to develop and create innovative solutions to critical business or organizational data issues
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as work independently or with minimal direction.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field.

Best VS. Average Candidate:
The best candidate is someone with experience in the technology sector and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), along with strong team management skills and the ability to resolve challenges effectively. Ideally, the candidate should have a track record of successfully completing recent projects on time/on Budget.
It’s also important that they have experience working across different cultures, particularly in the Caribbean and Latin America or with any other stakeholders.
One of the challenges they’ve faced is the need for someone who can effectively persuade stakeholders and successfully align business lines with the overall business objectives.
 

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$55.00 and CA$65.00
