Story Behind the Need
Business group: Canadian and International Data- Oversee Canadian Retail Banking
Contributes to the overall success of the Data Office in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.
The main function of the Senior Technical Business Analyst role is to support investigation, identification, Ingestion, testing and operationalization of data solutions related to strategic goals of the Data Office.
This role ensures all activities are conducted in compliance with enterprise data standards, policies and procedures.
Candidate Value Proposition: This is a high-visibility team working on one of the biggest projects within the Canadian Bank. The candidate will get more exposure to the Articulate Storyline / Articulate 360 tool.

Job Responsibilities:
• Experience working in data management and can provide hands-on support on the implementation according to Data Office playbooks, guidelines, standards, and policies (e.g., documenting initiatives, use cases, data tiering and classification, critical data elements and business data elements)
• Performs any necessary data mapping and data lineage activities and documents information flows to support specific business requirements
• Performs data profiling, analyzes and communicates results in support of data quality processes
• Builds the metadata model and business glossary by gathering information from multiple sources: business users, existing data sources, databases and other relevant documents and systems
• Participates in knowledge transfer within the team, business units and provide recommendation opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness and operational efficiency of the business unit and/or team
• Monitors project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports and recommending actions.
• Work in an Agile mindset to accelerate the delivery of the project
• Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
• Assesses, researches, analyzes, and documents project needs and outcomes by selecting the appropriate information gathering and/or modelling technique to elicit requirements
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
• 8+ years of experience working on business analysis processes, frameworks with documenting processes and data flows
• 5+ Years of experience working with SQL.
• 3+ years of experience working with data concepts (metadata, data mapping, data quality, data modeling, data governance)
• 3+ years of experience working with agile project methodology
• 2+ years of experience working with data models, data relationships, mapping lineage and business rules.
• Familiar with Data Management Tool such as Colibra or Talend or any other.
Nice-To-Have Skills:
• Knowledge on Python
• Working knowledge of data flows within a large enterprise.
• Understanding of Cloud platforms and related data services knowledge (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services)

• Demonstrated ability to be flexible/adaptable in exercising judgment in a changing environment and to manage competing priorities.
• Proven ability to learn business processes quickly and work well with business partners at different organizational levels.
• Exceptional leadership skills to review processes and procedures to create efficiencies, eliminate duplication and provide organizational support to achieve business objectives.
• Strong relationship management with an ability to establish productive relationships between various leaders, departments, and partners across the organization.
• Solutions-oriented and ability to develop and create innovative solutions to critical business or organizational data issues
• Strong analytical skills with amplitude for generating insights through an evidence-based thought process
• Sound judgment, learning agility, and a high level of professional and personal integrity
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
Education:
Strong technical education background, majoring in fields that require a high degree of analytical skills, such as Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Math, Statistics or related field

2 rounds of interviews
1st round – HM – 45 mins – MS Teams Video – The first 15 mins is for Introduction, Role overview, and what we are looking for the rest of the interview the manager will ask technical and business questions.
2nd round – Director – MS teams Video – 30 mins- behavioral questions and ‘’get to know’’ the candidates.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$55.00 and CA$70.00
