Business / Information Architect
Our client is seeking an experienced Business/ Information Architect Full-Time Temporary Resource position reports to the Senior Manager, Enterprise Architecture, with a dotted line to the Director, Enterprise Architecture. The position will be responsible for current state assessment, gap analysis, designing, with handoff support to Application, Systems and Security Architecture peers.
The Business / Information Architect is expected to have a thorough understanding of the Business and Information Architecture domains, with general knowledge of systems and security architecture and best practice.
Understand and support TCHC Strategic Business priorities and maps same in Information Strategy and roadmap development and governed technical innovation.
The role will focus on document business organization and capability modelling and developing Information architecture patterns that meet privacy and regulatory obligations and data protection requirements that align with the business and corporate Information strategy.
The Business/ Information Solution Architect will work collaboratively with the Senior Manager Enterprise Architecture, Principal Architect, Security Compliance, Data Operations, and directly Record and Legal teams and directly with business units to document current states, Capability models and gaps, workflows, data models, and Information Architecture solutions.
The selected candidate has a ‘Can do’ attitude and is able to collaborate with various stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE
The role responsible are as follows:
- Perform Business and Information architecture assessments, identify gaps in existing Business and Information architecture capabilities, and recommend changes or improvements.
- Design Business and Information architecture.
- Create solutions that align enterprise Business and Information architecture frameworks with industry standards and regulatory requirements such as MFIPPA
- Participate in risk assessments for new Information systems requirements.
- Support Business Analysts in requirements gathering and business process documentation.
- Assist in developing a disaster recovery and business continuity plans. Identify and prioritize system functions required to promote continuity and availability of critical business processes such that in the circumstance of system failure critical business functions are restored or recovered promptly.
- Document Business and Information requirements and controls for protecting information, systems, and technology assets.
- Develop resultant Options Papers, Architectures and Blueprints.
- Present and defend Architecture via the Architecture review Board
- Define and document how the implementation of a new Business Model or Information System Information impacts the current environment.
- Document and update as necessary all definition and architecture activities.
- Provide input on Information requirements to be included in request for proposals (RFPs), statements of work (SOWs), and other procurement documents.
- Collaborates extensively with the application, infrastructure and Data operations Teams and with the IT security and risk team to ensure that new solutions comply with all architectural standards while also delivering value to the business.
- Proposes and presents solutions to ARB and implements industry best practices, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Assesses opportunities for business and information process improvement and prepares documentation of rationale to share with team members and other affected parties.
- Researches and recommends new information systems and services to support the business; participates in system and solution selection.
- Documents all work to ensure operational support may readily continue by TCHC staff.

It is important that the assignment duties above be undertaken by a highly experienced and seasoned Candidate who can demonstrate specific knowledge of and experience in performing similar work for projects of comparable nature, size and scope as detailed below.
MANDATORY EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Formal Education & Certification:
- University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum ten (10) years of senior-level architecture experience.
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience in Business and Information Architecture.
EXPERIENCE
Technical Skills:
- Extensive experience in Business and Information Architecture development and modelling.
- Experience with ethical AI planning, implementation and secure integration with Information systems.
- Solid understanding of business capability modelling, structured and unstructured data topologies, relational databases, Entity Relationship diagramming, and reference modelling
- Experience in discovering gaps or weaknesses in Business and Information architecture to identify and mitigate known security threats or inherent weaknesses.
- Functional knowledge of “downstream” application, infrastructure and security domains, standards and technologies.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and corporate directives related to the security and confidentiality of information to identify and assess areas of concern and risk.
- Solid knowledge of current Information and contingency technology and techniques.
- Knowledge of Yardi, Service Now, Dayforce SaaS products
- Proven working knowledge of Information audit procedures and protocols.
- Work experience in multi-level requirements for processing multiple classification levels of data to generate meaningful information.
- Knowledge of risk management processes and experience in participating in risk assessments.
- Microsoft SQL, Fabric, PowerBI
- Knowledge of business continuity and disaster recovery operation plans.
- Experience interfacing with and assessing new third parties/vendors
- Awareness of emerging IT trends and directions, such as convergence of AI, Information, data.
- Knowledge of ethical AI, Microsoft Copilot, and information systems integration.
- Strong understanding of privacy and regulatory compliance HIPPA, FIPPA, PIPEDIA, Ontario Human Rights Code
- Public Sector Experience.

- Canadian Criminal Record Check Level 1– Clearance Certificate
a. Preferred Certifications:
- Certification in TOGAF or equivalent
- Certification in ITIL or equivalent
- DP-900 Azure Data Fundamentals Certification
b. Technical Skills:
- Experience with Microsoft database technologies inclusive of MS SQL, Fabric, PowerBI. Experience with Compliance tools such as Purview.
- Experience with ERP, APM, and CRM business functions and information workflows and tools, such as Dayforce, Yardi and ServiceNow
- Develop, support, and champion Enterprise data strategy.
- Develop and evolve Enterprise, real-time, data and analytics with self-service ownership across the business divisions.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal, consensus building and negotiation skills; cost/benefit analysis
- A team player with a track record for meeting deadline

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$90.00 and CA$105.00
