Job Title: Business Systems Analyst

Location: New Westminster, BC (Hybrid)

Estimated Duration: 6 Months

Our client is seeking a Business Systems Analyst for a 6?month contract (with potential extension) to support enterprise applications and enable ongoing business transformation for an assigned portfolio. The role is based at the client’s corporate head office in New Westminster, with a hybrid work model requiring a minimum of 40% of time on site and occasional travel to other facilities within the Greater Vancouver area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the client’s Business Technology Services group in the delivery of application maintenance, technical support, and solution enhancements for enterprise systems.

  • Work with business stakeholders and technical teams to identify, propose, and implement new applications, services, system changes, configurations, interfaces, and issue resolutions in alignment with enterprise standards and architecture.

  • Analyze business requirements, assess process and system impacts, and recommend options that align with enterprise architecture and future-state roadmaps.

  • Develop, where feasible, software customizations, interfaces, reports, and new application components, ensuring quality, efficiency, and compatibility with existing systems and SDLC standards.

  • Coordinate the setup and use of development, test, and production environments; develop test plans, define testing criteria, and conduct joint testing with business users to obtain sign?off.

  • Support and, where possible, automate testing activities related to new solutions, changes, and upgrades.

  • Collaborate with internal technology teams to plan and deliver new systems, enhancements, and solutions to reported issues.

  • Liaise with software vendors on system enhancements, defect resolution, and upgrades to meet evolving business needs.

  • Provide demos, training, and knowledge transfer to end users, peers, and other technical teams.

  • Maintain the health and stability of assigned applications throughout their lifecycle, proactively identifying and implementing improvements to reduce recurring issues.

  • Respond to escalated service requests and incidents in line with agreed service levels, including investigation, configuration changes, workarounds, enhancements, documentation updates, or vendor escalation.

  • Assess new and existing incidents to determine appropriate prioritization and escalation for immediate action when required.

  • Perform diagnostic activities to isolate problems and design, build, test, and implement solutions following established practices and procedures.

  • Coordinate and perform deployments and changes in collaboration with business stakeholders, internal teams, and software vendors, following change management processes.

  • Analyze vendor patches and upgrades, assess impacts on customizations and interfaces, recommend implementation strategies, and manage testing and production rollout.

  • Lead and define user acceptance testing for new or modified systems and ensure appropriate documentation is created and maintained for support and disaster recovery.

  • Maintain regular contact with business stakeholders to ensure systems continue to meet operational needs and address any deficiencies.

  • Perform other related duties such as contributing to standards development and participating in team initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field from a recognized post?secondary institution, including coursework in business/systems analysis, programming, and software development tools.

  • Minimum 3 years of recent experience supporting enterprise applications in an information technology environment, working within frameworks such as ITIL, Modern Service Management, Lean, and/or DevOps.

  • Proven experience applying best practices for incident, problem, and change management in complex environments.

  • Demonstrated experience gathering and analyzing business requirements, assessing system and integration impacts, and recommending technical solutions aligned with enterprise architecture.

  • Hands-on experience with application configuration, minor customizations, report development, interface support, and environment management across development, test, and production.

  • Experience following SDLC practices, including test planning, execution, defect management, and release coordination.

  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and implement sustainable fixes.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with business users, technical teams, and external vendors.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple service requests and project tasks in a structured manner.

Nice-to-Have Experience

  • Supporting Microsoft 365 services (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive).

  • Working with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).

  • Exposure to or experience with Cority, Clearsight, Tempest, and/or Longview.

Work Conditions

  • Standard business hours between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time, based on a 7.5?hour workday, with flexibility for adjusted hours as required by project needs.

  • Overtime may be requested and must be pre?approved in writing by the project manager; all hours are billed at the standard hourly rate.

  • Hybrid work model with a minimum on?site presence of 40% per week at the client’s head office, plus occasional travel to other local facilities

  • A client?issued laptop will be provided and must be returned within the specified timeline at the end of the assignment or upon request.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$75.00 and CA$95.00
