Business Systems Analyst
6 Month Contract
Oakville, 4 Days

We are hiring a Business Systems Analyst to strengthen our delivery capability by ensuring business needs are clearly defined, actionable, and successfully implemented. This role is central to bridging business intent with technical execution by translating complex requirements into structured, solution-ready artifacts that drive measurable outcomes. You will partner closely with stakeholders, product owners, developers, and QA to bring clarity, alignment, and momentum from ideation through to delivery, ensuring solutions are both fit-for-purpose and effectively adopted.

In addition, you will play a key role in driving business adoption and long-term value realization by developing high-quality training materials, user guides, and standard operating procedures, and by delivering practical, hands-on enablement to stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical thinking, precise documentation skills, and clear communication, along with proven experience operating in Agile environments. Familiarity with IBM OpenPages is an asset.

We are looking for a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) who takes ownership of outcomes—not just requirements. This role is designed for someone who can bring structure to ambiguity, elevate the quality of deliverables, and ensure work progresses efficiently from concept to implementation. You will act as a critical connector across business and technology teams, driving clarity, accountability, and solution readiness at every stage.

This is not a role focused on passive note-taking. We are seeking someone who can lead requirement definition, produce high-quality artifacts, actively support testing and delivery, and enable business users to successfully adopt new processes through clear guidance and training. Your impact will be measured by how effectively you turn intent into execution and ensure lasting business value.

The Business Systems Analyst acts as the bridge between business and technology teams. This person partners with stakeholders to understand problems, define requirements, document current and future-state processes, support delivery teams during build and test, and help ensure solutions are adopted successfully by end users. In this role, the BSA is also expected to create training documents and provide hands-on training to business users to support rollout and ongoing adoption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Elicit, analyze, and document business and system requirements.
  • Create high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, and process documentation.
  • Work with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, and QA to clarify scope and priorities.
  • Translate business needs into delivery-ready artifacts that support implementation.
  • Facilitate workshops, requirement reviews, backlog refinement, and solution discussions.
  • Document current-state and future-state processes, including dependencies, risks, and impacts.
  • Support testing activities, including review of test scenarios, UAT preparation, and defect triage.
  • Maintain traceability between business needs, requirements, and delivered outcomes.
  • Produce user-facing documentation such as job aids, SOPs, quick reference guides, and process guides.
  • Develop training materials for business users and stakeholders.
  • Deliver hands-on training sessions, walkthroughs, and knowledge transfer to business users to support adoption.
  • Monitor feedback from users and stakeholders and update documentation or training content as needed.
