Position: Business Systems Analyst/Product Manager
Location: Toronto (2-3 days onsite)
Employment Type: 6 month contract 

Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic Business Analyst/Product Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring successful project outcomes. This role requires a strong foundation in business analysis, technical skills, and a keen understanding of financial services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Business Analysis:
  2. Develop and maintain detailed process flow diagrams to map out business and technical workflows.
  3. Create well-defined user stories with clear acceptance criteria to guide development efforts.
  4. Work closely with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
  5. Technical Expertise:
  6. Write and execute basic SQL queries to fetch and insert data in relational databases.
  7. Design sequence diagrams (UML) to capture system interactions.
  8. Understand and work with message formats such as XML and JSON.
  9. Collaborate with developers and architects to ensure a basic understanding of microservices architecture.
  10. Product Management:
  11. Translate business needs into technical specifications for product development.
  12. Work with cross-functional teams to define, prioritize, and execute product features.
  13. Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the technical team to ensure alignment on goals and deliverables.
  14. Financial Services Expertise (Preferred):
  15. Leverage knowledge of transaction banking and cash management processes to inform product and project decisions.
  16. Apply insights from experience in financial services, such as trading, retail banking, or investment banking.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, Product Manager, or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of process modeling and creation of technical documentation (e.g., sequence diagrams, process flows).
  • Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with relational database management systems (RDBMS).
  • Knowledge of XML, JSON, and microservices architecture.
  • Experience in financial services is highly desirable (transaction banking, cash management, or related fields).
  • Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in creating acceptance criteria and working in Agile environments.
  • Familiarity with UML tools and techniques.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$75.00 and CA$80.00
