The Technical Buyer is required to do ‘cradle to grave’ procurement activities; from sourcing to expediting, in the support of all projects- be it design-build and build to print. This involves both the support of Marketing during the tender stage and Projects, during the execution stage.  In addition, supporting plant requirements using various procurement strategies.
Main responsibilities:

• Support development of and execute sourcing strategies to drive immediate and long-term improvements in Quality, Cost and Delivery, with engagement and support of key stakeholders.
• Support marketing during the tender stage and Projects, during the execution stage to meet all project milestones, delivery dates and M&S budgeted costs.
• Support commercial negotiations to achieve the best overall value for our client, and ensuring that supplier commercial issues are resolved efficiently and effectively.
• Supporting specific supplier relationships fulfilling the accountabilities of supplier leadership and development and creating strategies where applicable.
• Support the sourcing of parts/services, and raise and manage purchase documents within the purchasing system as appropriate, with compliance to all required customer and governmental regulations.
• Source new as well as maintain existing approved vendors.
• Review all drawings and bill of materials to insure requirements are procured effectively.
• Support supplier performance to achieve and exceed key performance measurable for on time delivery and cost reduction initiatives.

Qualifications:

• SAP experience preferred
• Developed communication skills including verbal and written
• Ability to read and interpret all drawings, technical specs and respective tolerances.
• Have a deep understanding of nuclear code preferred
• Ability to develop project plans, Gantt charts and understand critical path
• BA degree or equivalent industry experience
• 1 to 3 year purchasing experience
• Has a proven track record in delivering results  
• Understands manufacturing or service processes and the cost drivers
• Understands the Total Cost of Acquisition impact
• Understands and operates Supplier Relationship Management
• Understands export control regulations
• Ability to travel at least 10%
