Business group: GTA – GBME FICC& Equity Trading
Project: CCRT transformation and Regulatory project requires VAR development work for SFT timeliness
Reason for request: New project requirement
Candidate Value Proposition
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain a broad range of experience across different applications within market and counterparty credit risk.
Typical Day in Role:
- Work with the BA to understand the requirement and implement solutions
- Work with infrastructure team to set up deployment for various development components
- Diagnose technical issues: related to infrastructure to the cloud and to the scheduled processes
- Supporting a large project with many initiatives
- All development activities will be in the back end
- Developing and enhancing existing project and adding new features (primarily refactoring existing code)
Must Have Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in programing / development
- 5+ years in recent experience with Python
- 5+ years’ experience using Java
- 3+ experience working with shell scripts (experience in a Linux environment)
- Experience working in an Agile environment
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- Experience market risk & Credit risk is an asset
- Apache Airflow experience is an asset
- Experience using SQL
- Top banking or large IT experience
Soft Skills:
- Verbal and written communication
- Team player and able to work with multiple developers
- Understanding requirements shared by BAs and the business, and be able to communicate with other parties as needed.
Best vs Average: The ideal candidate will have experience working within market or counterparty risk and is strong in both Java and Python.
Degrees or certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required.
Candidate Review & Selection:
Structure and Format: Interviews held via MS Teams video
- First round technical panel interview with HM and developer – MS teams (45 mins)
- Potential second round interview with Director – MS teams (30 mins)
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$70.00 and CA$80.00
