Civil/Structural Designer III

Location: Duluth, MN

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Civil/Structural Designer III to support engineering and operations by developing, updating, and maintaining accurate technical drawings for pipeline and facility projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong oil & gas drafting experience, advanced AutoCAD skills, and the ability to work across multiple engineering disciplines. This role will involve interpreting engineering concepts, field information, redlines, site photos, and project documentation and translating them into accurate, compliant design drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and maintain engineering drawings across mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines

  • Translate engineering concepts, project deliverables, and field redlines into accurate CAD drawings

  • Review and incorporate site markups, photos, and as-built information into final drawings

  • Prepare and support Issued for Construction (IFC) and As-Built drawing packages

  • Ensure drawings meet applicable drafting standards and industry practices

  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, field teams, operations, maintenance teams, and external service providers

  • Maintain drawing control, revision history, and project documentation

  • Identify and resolve drawing discrepancies or incomplete information

  • Support multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

  • Contribute to the accuracy and integrity of engineering records and process safety information

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of drafting experience within the oil & gas industry

  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD

  • Experience working across multiple engineering disciplines, including mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation

  • Experience developing and updating:

    • P&IDs

    • Plot plans

    • Facility layouts

    • Equipment drawings

  • Ability to interpret field redlines, site photos, markups, and project documentation

  • Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Ability to work independently in a hybrid/distributed team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting pipeline and facility projects

  • Experience with industry drafting standards and systems

  • Experience with LPDMS or similar engineering/drawing management systems

  • Familiarity with instrumentation, control systems, and tagging conventions

  • Experience with Revit

Work Environment

This is a hybrid position based in Duluth, MN, requiring three days per week in the office and two days remotely. The role supports multiple engineering and operations teams and requires the ability to manage changing priorities while maintaining a high level of drawing accuracy and quality.

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is between $45.00 and $50.00
