Job Title: Cloud Engineer

Location: Markham, ON (Hybrid)

Estimated Duration: 6 Months

Role Overview 
You’ll design, build, and maintain cloud?based backend services using NestJS, with a primary focus on integrating to the Zuora Billing platform. This role blends hands?on engineering with Azure cloud, Zuora workflows and Zuora out of the box APIs

Key Responsibilities 
– Develop and maintain backend services and microservices using NestJS within a Azure Cloud 
– Design and implement Zuora API integrations, including subscription creation, amendments, invoicing, payments, and product catalog synchronization. 
– Build secure, scalable RESTful APIs and event?driven components supporting internal and external applications. 
– Collaborate with product, finance, and operations teams to translate billing workflows into robust technical solutions. 
– Implement authentication, authorization, and data?protection best practices. 
– Optimize system performance, reliability, and observability (logging, monitoring, alerting). 
– Write clean, testable code with strong unit, integration, and end?to?end test coverage. 
– Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives. 
– Troubleshoot production issues and support incident response when needed.

Required Skills & Experience 
– Strong proficiency with NestJS or other related coding languages. 
– Hands?on experience integrating with Zuora REST APIs, including authentication flows, rate plans, subscriptions, and invoice/payment operations. 
– Experience building cloud?native applications on Azure (Container Apps, APIM)
– Proficiency with relational databases or Zuora Data Query
– Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling (
– Familiarity with event?driven architectures
– Understanding of API security, OAuth, JWT, and general backend security practices.

Nice-to-Have 
– Experience with Zuora Workflow, Zuora Revenue. 
– Background in fintech, SaaS, or subscription?based business models. 
– Experience with microservices orchestration
– Knowledge of domain?driven design (DDD) or clean architecture principles. 
 

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$60.00 and CA$85.00
