Position Title: Developer – Specialty
Location: Toronto, ON
Duration: 3-4 months

Business group: GOT Development Services
Project: – Open pages Cogon’s development, building reports & notifications connect with Open pages
Reason for request: New requirement in the project
Candidate Value Proposition: SAAS (cloud) environment exposure, to run upgraded version of OpenPages and learn more in detail.
Typical day in this role:
The main function of a Developer (Other Specialty) is to design, develop, and implement applications using in-demand languages and technologies (e.g. –OpenPages Congo’s) to support business requirements.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyze highly complex business requirements; generate technical specifications to design or redesign complex Congo’s report components and applications.
  • Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts.
  • Leverage industry best practices to design, test, implement and support a solution.
  • Assure quality security and compliance requirements are met for supported area.
  • Be flexible and thrive in an evolving environment.
  • Adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner

Must have:

  • 4+ years of experience in the software development field using Congo’s reporting, Experience working in Agile teams.
  • 1+ years IBM OpenPages Congo’s development, Experience in COGNOS Version 11and/or 12 report development.
  • Creating, enhancing, and maintaining Framework Manager models to support business requirements (5+ years).
  • Designing and developing Congo’s BI reports using Report Studio with data drill-down and slice-and-dice options (5+ years).
  • Metadata creation, report specifications, integration, test planning, testing, and implementation support.
  • Advanced Structured Query Language (SQL) skills in database DB2 or Oracle.
  • Understanding of server technologies (Websphere, Internet Information Server, Apache, WebLogic), operating systems (Windows 2008R2/2012, AIX, Linux), and server security

Nice to have:

  • Experience integrating third-party vendor products.

Soft skill:

  • Fluency in English.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities to develop and support systems that meet user requirements.
  • Creativity and flexibility in identifying technical solutions to resolve business problems in a rapidly changing, demanding, and complex environment.
  • In-depth understanding of the application systems you are responsible for.
  • Ability to support multiple applications and multitask between priorities.

Education and Certifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a technical equivalent.

Best vs. Average Candidate:
Open pages Congo’s report development experience V 11 or higher, strong technical knowledge, good communication, problem solver.
Interview:
1st round on MS teams with HM on soft skills and work experience – 30mins
2nd round panel technical interview – in person availability is must – 45 mins
