Accountabilities:
- Monitors contractor construction activities and progress through regular site inspections and daily reporting, identifying observations, concerns, risks, and potential issues impacting schedule, quality, or compliance.
- Provides oversight of on-site work to verify compliance with regulatory and professional requirements, technical specifications, design drawings, and Owner requirements, including environmental and occupational health and safety standards.
- Leads and supports on-site and off-site quality reviews of completed works, assisting the Province’s Quality Manager in identifying, documenting, and addressing potential non-conformances with the Contractor.
- Supports construction coordination and risk management by attending construction meetings, facilitating interface coordination between contractors, and providing advice and guidance on construction issues and dispute resolution.
- Builds and maintains effective working relationships with contractor teams and liaises with external stakeholders (e.g., Metro Vancouver, BC Hydro, third-party developers) to support issue resolution and project delivery.
Preferred Education and Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, or a relevant field with a specialty in Construction Management.
Required Experience and Knowledge:
- Five years of field experience in construction of heavy civil infrastructure projects (with a focus on logistics and material management/marine construction experience).
- Strong understanding and experience working with major project contracts, including language interpretation and administration.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$70.00 and CA$90.00
