Position Title: Controls Testing, Senior Associate – Canada Risk Office
Location: Downtown Toronto – 3 days a week in office
Estimated Duration: Fulltime
- A solid understanding of risk management and governance principles and familiarity with the processes and controls that govern these activities (i.e., three lines of defense model and risk framework principles)

Your Responsibilities:
- Lead or support the execution of control tests to assess the design and operating effectiveness of control activities
- Collaborate with business partners and review documentation to gather information to perform control testing
- Proactively manage testing activities and schedules to ensure that all activities and reporting are completed within expected timelines
- Analyze data to identify issues and trends across the Canada controls environment
- Execute control testing across a variety of control types, including manual and automated controls where the ability to query data using SQL may be leveraged
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with business and second line partners
- Assist in the creation of reporting to communicate testing results to business partners
- Clearly document and communicate results from control tests for stakeholder review
- Support the development of reports and briefing materials to senior management
- Navigate organization to quickly understand business processes and requirements necessary to complete testing and to develop a deep understanding of how processes evolve to continually meet changing business requirements
- Support strategic risk projects as assigned
- Remain current on risk management trends, best practices, and guidelines issued by applicable regulatory bodies
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 3 years of financial consumer compliance monitoring experience or 3 years of consumer compliance auditing experience or 3 years of experience in assessing processes and their controls, or 3 years of experience in assessing third parties and vendors
- Experience in preparing and writing business documents (i.e., presentations for leadership meetings or forums, briefing memos, and reports)
- Familiarity with applicable Canadian regulators (OSFI, OPC, FCAC) and regulations that apply to a credit card business
- Basic data analysis and scripting experience (SQL, Python)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant certification or accreditation in Compliance, Risk Management, Legal, or other related fields
- Working knowledge of cloud data structure (snowflake)
- Experience creating and reviewing test scripts using SQL/Python to test full populations for key attributes
- Working knowledge of French language
- Strong leadership skills and capabilities
- Familiarity of a credit card business, practices, and operations
