Job Title: Cost Accountant
Location: Cornwall, ON (Hybrid)
Estimated Duration: 3 Months
Duties:
- Prepare cost models to determine the feasibility and profitability of new projects that company may wish to undertake
- Input and costing of all new finished goods going into production in stock master and costing files
- Create a quality specification standard and costs associated in the AS 400 for all new qualities and experimental runs
- Update finished goods’ costs into all companies
- Provide weekly, monthly and yearly reports based on production
- Analyze and interpret spending and usage variances of production
- Analyze and interpret absorption variances of labour and overheads
- Update cost and finishing Bill of Materials to reflect any changes in specifications
- Provide Tariff Classification duty codes and transfer values
- Enter Work in Process adjustments due to errors and write-offs
- Sort, code, batch, total and enter physical inventory tickets for all raw materials counted at physical inventory
- Prepare departments budgets
- Create and maintain temporary files and roll them over to become the following fiscal year’s new standards
- Compare old and new standards to ensure that the changeover is accurate
- Enter all Work in Process lot numbers counted at physical inventory
- Hand out, balance and reimburse petty cash
- Investigate and resolve any costing/production issues that arise
- Work with programmer to create new programs, queries, reports and systems as needed
- Responsible to observe all of occupational health and safety rules. This ensures your personal safety and the safety of others and also promote safety at work for all employees.
- Additional duties as required
Education:
- 2-year college diploma in Accounting or similar field of study would be considered an asset
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years experience in manufacturing
- Data entry experience
- AS 400 experience would be considered an asset
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$35.00 and CA$52.00
