Story Behind the Need
Business group: Canadian Analytics – provide analytics support to Canadian retail banking
Project: The contractor’s primary responsibilities involve campaign manual fulfilment tasks and supporting the credit card team in meeting their existing reporting obligations post TSYS migration. By handling these manual tasks, the contractor allows the credit card team to focus on more strategic initiatives and ensures that all reporting obligations are met without any delays or errors.

Typical Day in Role:
- Accountable for campaign fulfillment and analysis to support business strategies for the Retail Payments & Unsecured Lending portfolios.
- Deliver tactical knowledge to facilitate the execution of marketing strategies that will enable profitable growth of customer base, increase customer engagement, and optimize revenue margins for the business.
- Work with multiple stakeholders and partners within and outside client to execute strategies based on excellent analytical, database marketing, communication, and relationship management skills.
Accountability 1 – Campaign Fulfillment and Analytics
- Work closely with multiple stakeholders including Business, Marketing and Finance team to complete the manual fulfilment for unsecured lending portfolios.
- Collaborate with Retail Payment & Unsecured Lending team to profitably grow customer base. Proactively provide strategic analyses that will assist the business to optimize new & existing accounts and product mix from various channels. Identify opportunities to grow unsecured lending customer base within multiple segments of client customers and to acquire non-client customers.
- Continuously enhance knowledge of business/product strategies, competitive practices, market insights and other policies, technical processes, and advanced analytical tools/methodologies to best provide business solutions to all key constituents.
- Effectively manage and prioritize multiple business initiatives, projects, and ad-hoc analysis with business stakeholders and/or external partners/consultants.
- Accountability 2 – Measurement and Reporting
- Create ongoing reporting/measurement of acquisition/engagement campaign strategies relative to the pro-forma/plan. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to incumbent’s manager and other stakeholders on an ongoing basis to maximize business results and enable the creation of an ongoing learning loop.
- Responsible for recurring reporting to monitor overall portfolio performance.
- Identification of portfolio trends and key statistics using advanced analytics; Effective and timely communication of strategic and operational results to the business team.
- Providing analytical support and profit insights on a regular and ad-hoc basis within Retail Payment & Unsecured Lending team focusing towards driving business growth and profits.
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
- 3+ years of analytical experience, including statistical analysis
- 2+ years’ programming and data analysis experience with SAS/SQL
- 2+ years’ experience in Marketing, Campaign Analytics, or Finance
- Experience with MS Suite: Microsoft Word; intermediate Excel (Pivot tables); intermediate PowerPoint, basic Power BI
- 1+ year programming skills in Python and/or Hadoop platforms
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- 2+ years’ experience in Banking Industry
- Knowledge of/experience with retail revolving products (Credit Cards and Line of Credits) is a strong asset
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform
Soft Skills Required:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential with clients, vendors, and management
- Strong prioritizing, planning, analytical skills
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in the following fields preferred: Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering or Statistics
- Big Data certifications an asset
- Google certifications an asset
Best VS. Average Candidate:
- Ideal candidate has strong attention to detail as it is a reporting role; strong with SAS/SQL programming; has recent marketing campaign related knowledge so they can hit the ground running
Candidate Review & Selection
2 rounds – MS Teams Video Interviews – 45 minutes max
1st – technical panel interview – 2-3 interviewers including HM – scenario-based questions
2nd – behavioral / culture fit with some technical – with 1/2 with Director
Hiring Manager’s availability to interview: ASAP
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$35.00 and CA$48.00
