Position Title: Data Analyst

Story Behind the Need
Business group: Global Analytics Engineering
The business line provides business intelligence support and supporting areas using both repeatable and ad hoc reporting delivery reports (charts, graphs, tables, etc) that enable informed business decisions.
Project: Require a Data Analyst to support the IWM – Data and Analytics project, which has complex requirements to build insights on Wealth customers across multiple geographies in International Banking.

Typical Day in Role:
- Analyzes performance of process activities, identifies problem areas, and presents findings in clear, concise charts, graphs, tables, or summaries.
- Work with key stakeholders and gather requirements.
- Establishes standardized methods of recording, tracking and reporting on activity.
- Design, implement, automate and maintain large scale enterprise data ETL processes.
- Modify existing databases and database management systems and/or direct programmers and analysts to make changes.
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst and/ or Data Analyst focusing on technical projects.
- 2 years of experience working with data analysis techniques and tools, such as SQL, Excel, PowerBI and Tableau.
- Demonstrated knowledge of one or more key information service standards such as SDLC, ITIL, Six Sigma, etc.
- Experience with requirements management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum (preferably) or Waterfall.
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- Experience in Google Cloud Platform
Bilingual: English and Spanish
Any process certification, such as Six Sigma, IIBA (International Institute of Business Analysis ) CBPP, BPM, ISO 20000, ITIL, CMMI.
Soft Skills Required:
- Strong business analysis and requirement-gathering skills.
- Strong PC skills including knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint.
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible/adaptable in exercising judgment in a changing environment and to manage competing priorities.
- Proven ability to learn business processes quickly and work well with business partners at different organizational levels.
- Exceptional leadership skills to review processes and procedures to create efficiencies, eliminate duplication and provide organizational support to achieve business objectives.
- Strong relationship management with an ability to establish productive relationships between various leaders, departments and partners across the organization.
- Well-developed communication skills, including precise articulation of ideas and opinions to prepare detailed business cases and proposals.
- Solutions-oriented and ability to develop and create innovative solutions to critical business or organizational data issues
- Ability to work as part of a team, as well as work independently or with minimal direction.
- Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or a related field required
- Any process certification, such as Six Sigma, IIBA (International Institute of Business Analysis) CBPP, BPM, ISO 20000, ITIL, CMMI.
Best vs. Average Candidate
The best candidate is someone with experience as BA and DA, speaks Spanish, and has a certificate in IIBA.
Candidate Review & Selection
Two rounds of interviews
1st round – HM – 30 mins – 45 mins – MS Teams Video – The first 15 mins is for Introduction, project overview, and what we are looking for, next 15 mins to assess with questions previous experience related to Data and Business Analysis. no code is required. The manager will ask questions about PowerBI – No technical assessments are required.
2nd round –Director – 30 mins – MS Teams Video – ‘’get to know’’ questions such as ‘’Tell about you’’ and other behavioral questions.
The targeted start date is Sep 23rd or Sep 30th
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$20.00 and CA$30.00
