Job Title: Data Analyst – Capital Markets

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Estimated Duration: 6 Months

The Client Data Maintenance group is responsible for maintaining Capital Markets client static data originating from client onboarding, legal agreement digitization, credit, and new accounts. The group supports daily client lifecycle operations, providing data maintenance expertise, and fulfilling data governance requirements.

Reporting to the VP –Client Data and Analytics, the Analyst plays a key role in supporting the Client Data and Analytics team, executing on the CM data management strategy.

This role will:

  • Be responsible for creating and maintaining automated reporting and data visualizations.
  • Provide data analytics support, data governance insight, as well as data tools and technology expertise that support the CM Client Data Services group.

  • Create data visualizations that provide actionable insights to our business partners.
  • Assist in the maturation of operational process efficiencies using automation and technology.
  • Provide subject matter and technical support in data profiling and analysis that supports Client Data Strategy and enterprise initiatives.
  • Support the capture, measure, and reporting of metrics on the dimension of data quality that support defined business objectives.
  • Produce insightful analysis of business issues and suggest solutions/options.
  • Contribute to project initiatives.
  • Support the data analysis and governance functions that ensure data is fit for purpose and meets business, usability, and data quality requirements and standards.
  • Ensure adherence to the firm’s privacy and confidentiality requirements (legal, compliance and operational risk)

  • Make recommendations and implement process automations.
  • Responsible for providing insightful data visualizations.
  • Responsible for providing BAU support; addressing breaks/issues with existing reports and/or process in a timely manner

Knowledge & Skills (this section will also be loaded to myRecruiting)
Knowledge:
  • Completion of an applicable university degree and/or relevant professional designation is required.
  • 2+ years of data management experience in a similar role within the financial services industry (Data Visualization, Data Analysis & Profiling, Reference & Master Data)
  • Experience with business process automation
  • Solid understanding of data management practices (data visualization, data analysis, data profiling, matching, cleansing, mastering, and exception management)

Skills:

  • Experience with analyzing and manipulating data sets using data analytics tools and technologies.
  • Experience with AI prompts (Copilot)
  • Experience using Power Bi, DAX, M
  • Experience with Python
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Intermediate SQL skills
  • Advanced joins (nested, merged)
  • Pivot, subqueries
  • Aggregate and group by functions
  • Familiar with data management tools/technologies such as Dataiku, DbVisualizer, SQL Server, relational databases, or others, is required.
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Ability to maintain strong attention to detail while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong team player who works collaboratively, demonstrates initiative, is proactive, and client-focused.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with colleagues across business lines.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$40.00 and CA$50.00
