Job Title: Data Governance SME – Capital Markets

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
    
Estimated Duration: 6 Months

Our major banking client is looking for Subject Matter Experts in Data and Analytics to join their team and help them on exciting initiatives within Generative AI and Machine Learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and Implement Data Governance Frameworks:
  2. Design and implement comprehensive data governance policies, standards, and procedures specific to Capital Markets activities.
  3. Define and enforce data ownership and stewardship roles to ensure accountability for data quality and accuracy.
  4. Data Quality Management:
  5. Establish data quality metrics, standards, and monitoring processes to uphold high standards of accuracy and completeness in trading and risk data.
  6. Conduct regular audits and quality assessments to identify and resolve data issues promptly.
  7. Regulatory Compliance:
  8. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements (e.g., Dodd-Frank, MiFID II) and internal policies governing data management within Capital Markets.
  9. Implement controls and safeguards to protect sensitive market and client data.
  10. Data Lifecycle Management:
  11. Define and manage data lifecycle processes from ingestion through archival or deletion, aligning with trading and compliance requirements.
  12. Collaborate with IT teams to optimize data storage, retrieval, and disaster recovery capabilities.
  13. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
  14. Partner with trading desks, risk management, compliance, and IT teams to promote a culture of data governance excellence.
  15. Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate stakeholders on data governance principles and best practices.
  16. Continuous Improvement:
  17. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes impacting Capital Markets data governance.
  18. Lead initiatives to enhance data governance tools, processes, and capabilities to support business growth and operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will have the below skillset.

Mandatory Skill Set:

• Data Management and Governance: Skills in data governance, data lineage, metadata management,  experience in maintaining data quality / integrity and experience in developing and implementing data governing frameworks.
• Capital Markets Knowledge: Understanding of financial products, trading strategies, market dynamics, and regulatory environment in capital markets.
• Informatica for Data Quality and Lineage: Understanding and prior use of Informatica suite as well as Manta

• AI and Machine Learning: Knowledge of AI algorithms, neural networks, and experience in developing and deploying AI solutions for financial markets.
• Communication and Collaboration: Ability to communicate complex concepts effectively, collaborate with team members and cross functional teams.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$0.00 and CA$70.00
