Data Modeler
The Data Modeler will be responsible for the identification and analysis of business, functional and system requirements and documentation for data migration, data reporting, data warehouse and Business Intelligence solutions.

Duties
The Data Modeler’s responsibilities in delivery of this product are to:

    • Document business overviews, gap analysis, process models, functional requirements and specifications for Business Intelligence solution in partnership with customers and other project team members
    • Perform complex analysis and manipulation of source data from Salesforce and other data structures to populate business intelligence/Data Warehouse (DW) data structures that supports the business organization
    • Analyze existing reports and lead the identification and documentation of business metrics score cards, dashboards
    • Identify potential sources of data for the data warehouse and data profiling of the sources.
    • Develop test plans and coordinate integration and user acceptance testing of data acquisition processes and their implementation into production
    • Liaise with solution development teams prepare ETL documentation
    • Review data models to ascertain that requirements are met
    • Develop the semantic layer, metadata and report definitions
    • Produce ETL design guidelines and source to target mappings to ensure a manageable ETL infrastructure for the BI system.
    • Perform analysis combining operational and strategic business data with geospatial data to produce maps

and reports.

    • Consult and/or work with internal and external stakeholders; network with other Divisions; participates in problem solving.
    • Utilise knowledge of regulatory compliance, governance and security related issues and incorporated best practices.

Experience and Qualifications

    • Post-secondary education in computer science, business administration or other discipline pertinent to the job function or combination of education and experience.
    • Extensive experience as a data modeler, a data warehouse analyst or similar role with experience developing and implementing Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse solutions, preferably using dimensional modeling, Source-to-Target mapping (STM), validation rules etc.
    • Extensive experience in data mapping, data modeling, complex analysis and manipulation of source data from Salesforce and other data structures to populate business intelligence data structures
    • Extensive hands-on experience in developing and executing test plans and test cases for Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse solutions, data acquisition and data migration
    • Knowledge of industry standard data modeling and Business Intelligence tools, (including Salesforce tools)

 

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$70.00 and CA$82.00
