Position Title: Data Scientist
Location: Toronto, ON
Duration: 6 months

Story Behind the Need
Business Line: Global AI & ML oversees the automation and integration of systems pertaining to proprietary documents within the bank,

Story Behind the Need: The AIDox Project will use Ai and Machine Learning to extract key information from documents and validate info within the backend systems. Using proprietary software to client and Open Source this project will see the automation of documentations once searched for manually. There will be the opportunity for the successful candidate to build software (Python) around the Machine Learning aspect of the project.

Typical Day in Role:
-Collecting business requirements and process flows and documenting them in accordance with company guidelines
Extraction of key information from the documents with a combination of Business Rules, Text Analytics, Programming and Machine Learning
Participate in daily Stand Ups, where the successful candidate will need to effectively communicate updates and requirements for their responsibilities within the project
Presenting progress and executing small demos
Demonstrating high attention to detail when reviewing code
Participate in an Agile Work Environment
Assisting in the planning stages of this project and participating in building the Proof of Concept
Actively working to improve the current extraction capabilities of the system

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
5-8 Years of experience as a Data Scientist (Data analyst and Data Engineer)
3+ years’ experience with Python
Previous experience working with Machine Learning software (GCP or Pytorch or transformers or other)
Nice-To-Have Skills:
1 – NLP (Natural Languages) an asset
2 – Experience GCP an asset
Soft Skills Required:
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, collaboration, and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Demonstrates proactiveness when addressing issues
• Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team, as well as work independently or with minimal direction.
Best VS. Average Candidate:

The best candidate would have experience with Machine Learning and have recent experience working on a project that dealt with automation.
Education & Certificates:
Post Secondary Education in a related field
Candidate review and selection:
1st Interview with Hiring Manager – teammate (1 hour) – MS Teams Video Call
– Technical questions, project overview, talk about experience and get to know.
2nd Interview Hiring Manager (30 min) – MS Teams Video Call
– Behavioral questions, and evaluate cultural fit
 

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$45.00 and CA$55.00
