Position Title: Copywriter
Location: Montreal or Toronto
- Accountability for copy produced as part of a large, demanding and high-visibility content portfolio for a key digital revenue-driven product
- As a content owner, effective communication and collaboration with Business Analysts, UX/UI designers, Developers, QA specialists, Product Owners, Translators, and other Copywriters, to successfully craft content
- As a content subject matter expert (SME) and point of contact for internal clients, active involvement in solving content challenges
- Ownership in ensuring the consistent creation and delivery of concise, findable, and engaging content that adheres to Air Canada’s brand guidelines, is compliant with latest accessibility policies, uses today’s best digital practices for the given channel and product, and is optimized for Search Engines
- As an advocate for Air Canada’s brand voice, identification of any areas that do not follow and/or comply with the company’s copywriting guidelines and digital best practice
Required skills
- Bachelor’s or other similar degree in writing, journalism, literature or a related field, and a minimum of 5 years of copywriting/editing experience in a digital environment (web, mobile, shopping channels and similar applications)
- Strong knowledge of the airline industry and Air Canada’s digital product portfolio and experience within eCommerce and retail platforms is an asset
- Ability to effectively communicate and easily adapt multiple topics across diverse audiences, and to easily switch between tasks and scopes
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Excel, plus basic knowledge of HTML
- Superior writing, proofreading and editing skills, and optimal grammar and spelling
- Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and a proven ability to work with minimal supervision and under very tight deadlines are essential attributes
- Demonstrated ability to work in a holistic customer-centric environment and collaborate across departments and teams
- Familiarity with visual content production, mock-ups, product flow charts, etc.
- Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices a strong asset
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$60.00 and CA$75.00
