Job Title: Drawing Control Analyst
Location: Superior, WI / Duluth, MN (Hybrid 3 days Onsite a week)
Contract Duration: 1 year

High Level Description:
The primary focus of this role is to provide drawing control support for projects by ensuring engineering drawings are accurately managed, reviewed, and published within the drawing management system for internal and external stakeholders. The role supports users in navigating the system, facilitates as-built drawing reviews, and works closely with project teams to drive timely completion of drawing updates, so stakeholders have access to the latest information. It also ensures system integrity and accessibility by publishing finalized drawings and troubleshooting any access or process issues that impact the availability and reliability of drawing data
 
Specific Accountabilities:
 

  • Support as-built consolidation and publishing by coordinating the integration of approved as-built updates into master drawing records and ensuring final drawings are completed, published, and available in Meridian prior to project execution and turnover 
  • Coordinate Major Projects and Core Project SME reviews and perform Drawing Control reviews to ensure compliance with drawing system requirements 
  • Track project review and turnover status throughout the project lifecycle, including design, IFC, as-built reviews 
  • Provide guidance to internal and external users on creating workspaces and project folders to support project drawing design, construction, as-built activities 
  • Resolve broken hybrid drawings by identifying and correcting xreference issues within CAD files. This ensures all drawing components are fully visible and functional in Meridian and restores usability of drawings for engineering, operations, and project execution 
  • Update outdated renditions (PDFs) by regenerating and publishing current renditions aligned with the latest approved master drawings to ensure users have access to accurate and up-to-date information in Meridian 
  • Clean up legacy drawing discrepancies by identifying and resolving inconsistencies between master drawings, renditions, and associated metadata to improve overall data integrity and user trust in the drawing management system 

Scope/Dimension:

  • Under minimal supervision, routinely communicate with internal customers across all Canadian and US operating and project areas, as well as multiple external vendors and service providers, to resolve drawing management system issues and process clarification. 
  • Daily collaborative interactions with AIM groups (Engineering Drawings, and Turnover & Integration) to ensure actionable progress 
  • On-going contact with project stakeholders to ensure the successful management of Engineering drawings in the drawing Management system. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Required:

  • Completion of a university degree, technical diploma, or an equivalent combination of technical training and drawing control experience 
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in drawing management, preferably within the engineering or oil and gas industry 
  • Strong customer service and organizational skills, with ability to prioritize tasks effectively 
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills (both written and verbal) 
  • Ability to work independently and proactively with minimal supervision 
  • Basic functional knowledge of drawing management systems (Meridian)  
  • Basic knowledge of BIM-JIRA and Excel required 

Preferred:

  • Strong problem-solving ability, creative solutioning with ability to leverage technology (automation, scripting, coding) 
  • Basic level drafting skills and some drafting experience 
  • Advanced knowledge of Bluebeam Revu 

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is between $33.00 and $37.00
