Job Title: Electrical Engineer – Asset Management
Location: Burnaby, BC (Hybrid)
Estimated Duration: 12 Months
Our client is a leading energy utility that generates, purchases, distributes and sells electricity. They are currently looking for an Asset Management Engineer for their Burnaby location.
Overview:
The Asset Management Engineer will develop and implement maintenance programs for electricity generation equipment, including supporting documentation such as maintenance procedures, maintenance instructions, record forms as well as selection of required spare parts to sustain equipment operation. All deliverables with quality, within budget, and on time.
Responsibilities:
- Review maintenance program work of junior asset management electrical engineers and provide adequate feedback.
- Support development of asset management strategic initiatives related to electrical equipment (methodologies, procedures, standards).
- Reading and understanding drawings and manuals to articulate how a system works and how the system can fail and what needs to be done to prevent failures either from a design or an effective maintenance standpoint
Experience and Role Accountabilities
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) with Engineers & Geoscientists BC or with another jurisdiction and eligible for registration as such with Engineers & Geoscientists BC
- Must have minimum four (4) years of electrical engineering experience including most time working in the equipment maintenance and/or commissioning field, or equivalent.
- Experience with operation, maintenance, and remediation of failures of equipment and systems in the power utility industry, oil and gas industry, or heavy industrial environment
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize when given multiple competing assignments
- Good decision making and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to coordinate with engineering subject matter experts, field personnel, regulatory compliance personnel, etc for the development and implementation of maintenance programs.
- Knowledge of Reliability Center Maintenance (RCM) is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is desirable but not essential

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$63.50 and CA$78.50
