Service Electrician (309A) | Straight Nights & Weekends

Shift: Straight nights, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Overview

We are seeking a Licensed 309A Electrician for a 12-month contract supporting the ongoing operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of modern electrification infrastructure. The successful candidate will help maintain high uptime and reliability across a portfolio of distributed energy assets, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and providing technical expertise during all O&M activities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site visits to diagnose and resolve technical, safety, and maintenance-related issues with minimal downtime
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on EV charging infrastructure, battery storage systems, solar PV systems, and electrical distribution equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults in the field, working independently and with cross-functional teams
  • Monitor system performance via SCADA and other monitoring platforms, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions
  • Lead commissioning activities for new systems, including testing, inspections, and quality assurance
  • Collaborate with OEMs on troubleshooting, warranty coordination, and scheduled maintenance aligned to manufacturer specs
  • Deliver training to operators and junior staff on safe and compliant system operation
  • Contribute to the development of maintenance plans, checklists, and SOPs
  • Document all maintenance activities, work orders, and repair actions accurately within applicable software platforms
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols including lockout/tagout (LOTO)
  • Support spare parts and tools inventory management to ensure materials are available when needed

Qualifications

  • Valid 309A Electrical License with demonstrated maintenance experience
  • 5+ years in a maintenance electrician role with hands-on diagnostics and repair across electrical systems and infrastructure
  • Experience in electrification environments including BESS, solar PV, and EV charging is a strong asset
  • Familiarity with SCADA and EMS systems and their interaction with electrical infrastructure
  • Experience with CMMS or asset management software
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical codes, ESA and OSHA safety standards
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel to various sites
  • Strong communicator who thrives in fast-paced, client-facing environments

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$40.00 and CA$50.00
