SCOPE
The Enterprise Business Architect (EBA) is responsible for developing and maintaining the business architecture strategies and framework that aligns with the organization’s strategic objectives. This role involves designing and mapping high-level business processes, capabilities, and organizational structures to ensure they support the enterprise’s goals. The Enterprise Business Architect works closely with executives, business leaders, and IT teams to drive alignment between business strategies and technology solutions, fostering agility and innovation across the organization.

DUTIES and Key Responsibilities
Identify and map business capabilities across the organization with a focus on the Operations domain, ensuring that they are aligned with business strategies and supported by appropriate resources and technologies.
Develop and maintain the enterprise business architecture that aligns with the organization’s strategic goals and objectives, ensuring coherence across all business units.
Analyze, design, and optimize high-level business processes and value chains to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the overall performance of the organization.
Design strategies for integrating data from various sources, ensuring data quality, consistency, and security across the organization.
Maintain current, transitional, and future state architectures and roadmaps to guide the implementation of strategies
Consult and collaborate with peer Architects (Business, Technical, and Domain) to shape and manage the pipeline of opportunities and prioritize the development and delivery of multiple enterprise architecture solutions

Skills and Competencies

Must Have:
•     Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant field.
•     Extensive experience (typically 8+ years)  in business architecture, enterprise architecture, or a related role, with a focus on aligning business and IT strategies.
•     Minimum of (8) years of experience managing people successfully
•     Proven track record of developing and implementing business architecture frameworks that drive organizational success.
•     Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) and business architecture methodologies.

  • Experience interacting with senior level management.
  • Experience building and presenting business roadmaps and strategies.

Nice to have:

•       Experience with enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, CRM) transportation, manufacturing or logistics environments considered an asset and understanding of their role in supporting business capabilities. (This would be a very strong asset for the manager)

  • Relevant certifications such as TOGAF Certification, Certified Business Architect (CBA), or similar.

•       Experience working in agile development environments
•       Experience in large-scale digital transformation initiatives or complex enterprise system implementations.

DURATION AND POTENTIAL START DATE
Targeted start date: October 1, 2024 – as soon as possible
End date: 9 months with possibility of extension.
LOCATION OF WORK: Ottawa. Candidate must work onsite twice a week in Ottawa office.
HOURS OF WORK:   37.5 hours per week
 

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$115.00 and CA$125.00
