Job Title: Estimator, General Contracting

Location: Winnipeg, MB (Hybrid)

Estimated Duration: Fulltime

Job Description

  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and general conditions.
  • Manage the full bid process, including solicitation, analysis, and evaluation of subcontractor and supplier pricing.
  • Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and tender documents to ensure complete scope coverage.
  • Collaborate with project teams on pre-construction planning, budgeting, and cost strategies.
  • Conduct cost analysis using historical data, market trends, and current pricing to improve estimate accuracy.
  • Identify risks and contribute to mitigation strategies during the estimating phase.
  • Participate in pre-tender meetings, bid reviews, and project handover to operations teams.
  • Support project execution by assisting with change orders, extra work pricing, and contract adjustments.
  • Continuously improve estimating tools, processes, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and competitiveness.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in an estimating role within building construction, infrastructure, or general contracting.
  • Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field is considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, sequencing, and project lifecycle.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
  • Experience with Bluebeam, CAD, or digital takeoff software is considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in field construction is considered an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$70,000 and CA$130,000
