Description of Service
The organization is seeking an ETL Developer who will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data warehouse and analytics architecture to meet the organization’s enterprise’s business analysis and reporting needs. The resource will also provide support to the organization’s business requirements in the application and consumption of information from the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) or from other source systems. The resource will work with architects and business partners to fashion out the technical vision for applications in the Data Warehouse. The resource will ensure the functionality, security, availability and accuracy of the information within the Data Warehouse environment. The ETL developer will mainly work with DataStage and DataManager tools. 
Primary Responsibilities
  • Design, maintain, and provide support for Data Warehouse systems and related DataMarts
  • Translate business requirements into viable technical solutions by coordinating with Product Owner, Business stakeholders as well as other relevant SMEs
  • Identify risks, impacts and dependencies while assessing new requirements to optimize delivery
  • Design data integration/ETL jobs using DataStage and its foundation tools in a SQL Server and Windows environment
  • Design and modify ETL logic using DataManager
  • Participate in the testing of developed technical solutions
  • Participate in the investigation and resolution of complex Data Warehouse issues
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process, systems, and other efficiency improvements
  • Work towards the team’s effectiveness through personal style
Specific Project Requirements, if any
There is a requirement for the resource to work on weekends and holidays (on a rotation) from 9:00AM to 11:00AM and be available on-call during this period for incidents that may arise. On?call time, incident response, and any hours worked during this period are included in the standard hourly rate. No additional compensation, overtime, or standby premiums will be paid for on?call services.
Skill and Qualification Requirements
Technical Skills Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, or a related field with at least 8 years of experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with IBM’s ETL tool – IBM InfoSphere DataStage, including developing, testing, and deploying ETL solutions for large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Strong experience in IBM Cognos Data Manager
  • Experience with automated testing tools including developing and executing test cases to validate ETL processes and ensure data quality
  • Logical and physical data modelling
  • Requirements gathering and analysis with the ability to translate business questions and requirements into actionable technical solutions
  • Technical design and technical writing skills
  • Experience with SQL Server, including developing and optimizing queries, managing database objects, and performing troubleshooting for performance issues
  • Strong understanding of integration testing, demonstrated by planning and executing test strategies
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and requirement management

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$70.00 and CA$90.00
