Job Title: Full Stack Developer
Location: Toronto, ON (Onsite)
Estimated Duration: Fulltime
The Opportunity:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Full Stack Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in building and maintaining our core web application, working across the entire stack from the user interface built with React, through the Python backend, and interacting with our PostgreSQL database. If you thrive in an environment where you can contribute significantly to both front-end and back-end development and enjoy solving complex problems end-to-end, this role is for you.
Responsibilities
– Design, develop, and maintain features across the full web application stack (frontend, backend, database).
– Build responsive and performant user interfaces using ReactJS.
– Develop robust and scalable RESTful APIs and backend logic using Python (FastAPI).
– Design and manage database schemas and write efficient queries for PostgreSQL (nice to have alembic and docker).
– Integrate front-end components with backend services (via Python).
– Write clean, well-documented, and testable code for both front-end and back-end (nice to have some sort of code framework, SOLID, KISS, DRY).
– Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge.
– Identify and address performance bottlenecks and bugs across the stack.
– Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decisions.
– Assist with deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting of the application in the production environment (Azure deployment).
– Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices.
Required Skills and Experience
– 5 years of professional experience in full stack web development.
– Strong proficiency in Typescript, ReactJS and the surrounding ecosystem (hooks, state management libraries like Redux, etc.)
– Proficiency in component libraries (Material UI, TailwindCSS)
– Expertise in Python and experience with at least one major web framework (FastAPI).
– Solid understanding of database concepts and significant experience working with PostgreSQL, including schema design, writing complex queries, and performance tuning.
– Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
– Strong experience in developing CI/CD pipelines (Strongly preferred GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps)
– Proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, and modern front-end build tools (e.g., Webpack, Vite).
– Experience with version control systems, particularly GitHub.
– Familiarity with testing methodologies and frameworks for both front-end and back-end (unit testing and integration testing)
– Understanding of agile development principles.
– Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
– Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Bonus Points
– Experience with cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure services relevant to hosting web applications (App Service, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Azure Key Vault, Azure Monitor, etc.).
– Experience with Docker and containerization.
– Knowledge of front-end and back-end security best practices (e.g., OWASP Top 10).
– Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Bicep).
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$110,000 and CA$135,000
