Role:

  • Contribute to complex projects relating to the design of products whose applications are numerous, including spacecraft relative navigation sensors, processing platforms, vision systems and LiDAR solutions
  • Perform circuit card level design and testing for both analog and digital circuitry
  • Contribute to architecture of new camera and sensor platforms
  • Prepare and maintain design documentation
  • Conduct and document engineering analysis (Derating, Worst Case, Reliability, Radiation, EMI/EMC Analysis, FMECA, Power Budget)
  • Conduct and documents investigations of hardware anomalies and failures
  • Perform Acceptance Test Procedures on Engineering and Flight model HW
  • Mentor less experienced staff
  • Assist with project estimation
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience level flexible: Desired 8+ years related experience; minimum 2 years with high reliability design experience
  • Desirable: Space, aerospace, or military design experience. High reliability.
  • Digital and analog design background. Microprocessors, memories, image sensors, I2C, opamps, filters, point of load power supplies
  • Familiarity with radiation analysis
  • Familiarity with EEE-INST-002
  • Familiarity with EMI/EMC compliance issues
  • Familiarity with FPGA design – implementation into a CCA with internal RTL experience beneficial
  • Familiarity with power supply design
  • Familiarity with LTSpice simulation
  • Familiarity with requirements definition and/or as verification and validation methodologies
  • Familiarity with component qualification concerns
  • Familiarity with Design For Manufacturing methods
  • Familiarity with LiDAR or other laser related design and test
  • Schematic capture (preferentially Orcad), board layout (preferentially Allegro), signal and power integrity analysis
  • Strong lab debug skills
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills (English); both verbal and written
  • Highly motivated team player with excellent communication skills, initiative, superior problem solving skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and willingness to learn and adapt
  • Capable of working under pressure to meet time critical deadlines and ensure reliable designs
  • Able to obtain a Federal Government Security Clearance (minimum Reliability level)

Basic Requirements

  • BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$114.00 and CA$78,000
