Instream Construction Manager – Water Projects
Start Date: July 2025
Location: Sparwood, BC
Estimated Contract Length: July 2025 – February 2026.
Monday – Friday, with every second Friday off (10-hour days)
Reporting to the Project Managers, the Construction Manager, will be responsible for various construction related activities on these various water projects. This includes coordination with engineering, procurement and supply chain management, information management, project controls, risk management, accounting and functions.
Qualifications:
- 10-15+ years of experience as a Construction Manager, leading full project lifecycles (preferably in mining, water, or civil projects). Experience with projects in environmentally sensitive areas (e.g. fish habitats) is a BIG PLUS!
- Experience working with fish habitat structures (such as log jams, riffles, pools).
- Proven background in bank stabilization techniques such as riprap installation, bioengineering methods, and live staking.
- Experience with ESC Management to ensure the staging areas keep throughout duration of project.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all on-site construction activities and ensure timely project execution
- Construction Managers will oversee all in-field project contractors and consultants and act as agents of Client
- Work area isolation and fish salvage led by a Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP)
- ESC fence installation
- Bypass/Diversion System – Cofferdam installation, dewatering
- Riffle repair works – excavation, riprap placement
- Bank and flood plain revegetation including live stakes and plugs
- Decommission all diversion and isolation systems
- Help develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans (e.g. schedule changes, resource adjustments, scope modifications)

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$120.00 and CA$150.00
