Job Title: Integration Specialist

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Estimated Duration: Fulltime

Our client is a growing Canadian energy and infrastructure company delivering turnkey electrification solutions for large-scale commercial and institutional customers. Their offerings span the full electrical infrastructure spectrum, from grid connection through to vehicle chargers, and include infrastructure delivery and project management, operations and maintenance, on-site generation, battery storage and backup power, and smart charging and energy management.

Reporting to the Head of Energy Markets and Software Solutions, you will join a team developing energy solutions for large business and institutional clients across electric vehicle charging, battery storage, solar PV, and power generation. This role is central to unlocking the full potential of EV and charging infrastructure and supporting the broader transition to a clean energy economy.

The ideal candidate combines expertise in energy systems, renewable energy, EV technology, and control systems to ensure seamless project execution.

Responsibilities

Project Design and Integration:

  • Design and develop system architectures for electrification projects, including EV chargers, power distribution systems, and energy management systems
  • Integrate hardware and software components to optimize system functionality
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure systems meet project goals
  • Support site assessments and feasibility evaluations to determine project requirements
  • Contribute to software and hardware product development, designing and evaluating innovative solutions that deliver fit-for-purpose systems aligned with product vision and business needs
  • Identify risks and propose strategies to proactively address challenges

Technical Analysis and Implementation:

  • Ensure effective integration and interoperability of electrification systems
  • Implement communication protocols (e.g., OCPP, MODBUS, SCADA) for seamless system performance
  • Support power flow optimization, load balancing, and grid synchronization
  • Perform technical review of project design, analysis, and reporting

Testing and Troubleshooting:

  • Oversee commissioning and performance validation against specifications to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Perform remote and on-site troubleshooting of technical issues related to hardware, software, and interoperability
  • Monitor system performance and support stakeholders in improving system uptime and availability

Documentation and Compliance:

  • Prepare project documentation including system diagrams, test plans, end-to-end requirements, technical specifications, and reports
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements for EV charging and microgrid systems

Qualifications

  • Self-initiated and intellectually curious, with a strong interest in electrification and innovation
  • Experience with development and operation of one or more of the following: EV charging, behind-the-meter assets, distributed energy resources, or energy management systems
  • University degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with SCADA or PLC/RTU platforms; OCPP experience is an asset
  • 5+ years of experience in systems integration, EV infrastructure, distributed energy resources, or microgrid projects
  • Strong understanding of energy storage systems, renewable energy technologies, and power systems
  • Experience working with EVSE and energy management software

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$70,000 and CA$80,000
