Intermediate Drafting Coordinator

Job Summary

The role serves as a key liaison between internal drafting teams, external service providers, and project stakeholders. This position supports engineering and project management teams by coordinating drafting activities, ensuring technical accuracy, and maintaining compliance with company and project drafting standards. The role contributes to design development, document control, and continuous improvement of drafting processes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between internal drafting resources, external service providers, and Project Managers and Engineers

  • Support standard and moderately complex technical assignments requiring strong technical expertise

  • Collaborate with the Design Oversight Team to prepare:

    • Preliminary layouts

    • Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)

    • Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)

  • Review drafting requirements and communicate expectations to drafting teams

  • Review drawings to verify compliance with TransCanada and project drafting standards

  • Provide required documents to Project Engineers or Coordinators for inclusion in the Design Basis Memorandum (DBM)

  • Check CAD files into the FileNet Working Library

  • Verify drawings are correctly loaded into FileNet Engineering and Working Libraries

  • Notify Project Engineers or Coordinators when drawing libraries are complete and up to date

  • Participate in the development of new procedures and improvements to existing drafting practices

    Job Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of drafting standards and engineering documentation processes

  • Experience reviewing and validating technical drawings for accuracy and compliance

  • Working knowledge of PFDs, P&IDs, and layout drawings

  • Familiarity with CAD systems and document management platforms (e.g., FileNet)

  • Ability to coordinate across multiple teams and external service providers

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Effective communication skills with engineering and project management stakeholders

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is between $30.00 and $38.00
