Business group: Client Engineering – Development & Business Analysis – team looks after development and support for branch applications and products
Project: Supports safety deposit box application
Candidate Value Proposition:
The successful candidate will have the opportunity gain exposure to Google cloud technologies as well as event-based (real time) technologies.
Typical Day in Role:
• Providing pager support on a rotational basis – if there are major software issues, will be helping to review + resolve
• Research analysis and programming, technical documentation
• Tech stack: Java
• Full stack: 50% back end 50% front-end
• Working closely with other developers and solutions architects design, develop, and implement applications using Java, SOAP, Json
• Analyze highly complex business requirements; generate technical specifications to design or redesign complex software components and applications
• Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts
• Assure quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area
• Leverage industry best practices to design, test, implement and support a solution
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1) 5+ years of experience as a as a Java full-stack developer
2) 3+ years’ experience in application architecture and API design
3) 3+ years’ experience in building Microservices using Spring boot
4) 3+ years’ experience with Cloud Foundry and Kubernetes
Nice-To-Have Skills:
1) Demonstrated experience working with all phases of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
2) Proficient with SQL queries, PL/SQL, and SQL Loader – or equivalent
3) Experience with SOAP, and JSON
4) Experience in version control and build tools, like Git, Bitbucket, Jenkin, Gradle
5) Experience with secure coding
Soft Skills Required:
• Good communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Strong documentation skills
Education:
Bachelors in a technical field
Best VS. Average Candidate:
Ideal candidate is able to take a problem, research it and document it and come back with a solution with minimal hand holding, who is independent; strong Java/API developer who has experience with secure coding
Supplier asked if it is truly full stack considering it is mostly front-end in requirements?
HM answered “Full stack due to the pager support component of the role. Backend and front-end development and support are needed for this role. Java Spring Boot, Microservices, DB2, Cloud Foundry. “
Another supplier asked: is there a preference for front end programming language? React or Angular? – HM responded – React is preferred

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$50.00 and CA$60.00
