In this role you will:

  • Research, analyze and document clear Functional Specifications, System Requirements, and describe complex business situations in technical terms.
  • Contribute to the development of functional solutions to address simple to highly complex business needs that may cross various technologies, applications, and functional areas.
  • Work with development and confirm delivered solutions meet the business needs. 
  • Carry out complex work assignments, work independently and drive productivity to meet needs of the project and timelines.
  • Support QA for test strategies.
  • Provide business analysis support during functional and integrated testing of the applications.

The requirements
Must Have:

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on IT or systems business analyst experience with strong BA practices and standards.
  • Strong IT requirements analysis and elicitation skills
  • Experience with P&C insurance, Travel & Group Benefits insurance.
  • Solid understanding of Insurance Accounting, Reinsurance and IFRS17 & Regulatory Reporting.
  • Experience with ERP Oracle Cloud finance modules.
  • Experience with SQL, data analysis, EDW/EDP.
  • Solid understanding of system development life cycle.
  • Superior problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Superior documentation and communication skills.
  • Organizational skills: Proactive mind set, able to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Self starter and effective team player.

Strong Assets

  • Knowledge in software architecture, ETL Concepts and Database architecture.
  • Experience with Informatica IICS Integration projects
  • Good level of understanding of the IICS concepts, Informatica guidelines and best practices.
  • Confluence & Jira knowledge
  • CBAP, IIBA member or other BA designation certification.
  • Scrum Master or experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to work in a Waterfall or Hybrid Agile/Waterfall method.
  • Practical experience with or within a Finance department in Billing, AR/AP, and General Ledger functions.
  • Practical experience with or knowledge of preparing financial statements, P&C -1 in the specific reporting areas of premiums, claims and reinsurance.
  • University degree, College diploma and/or Certifications in a related discipline or equivalent training and work experience.

 

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$70.00 and CA$80.00
