Position Title: IT Program Manager
Location: Toronto, ON
Duration: 12 months

Story Behind the Need
Business group: Project Delivery & Support
Project: Accelerated Cloud Migration Project, in house applications will be migrated to GCP.
Reason for request: The bank is partnered closely with Google to expedite the migration project and a new Program manager is required to assist with the project.

Typical Day in Role

  • Develop, track and manage project budget, project plans, timelines and scope
  • Manage project resources including procuring project staff, developing, motivating, coaching and advising
  • Partner closely with other members of functional teams to define business requirements
  • Lead teams of developers in the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet business needs
  • Define test plans and ensure that products are defect free before User Acceptance Testing
  • Facilitate the User Acceptance Testing process, developing rollout plans and procedures
  • Prepare and present cost-benefit analyses
  • Ensure appropriate systems development and project management processes are being utilized
  • Make presentations to steering committees or project sponsors
  • Communicating with project team and vendors

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

  • 10+ years experience in a Program Manager role, working closely with business partners
  • Prior experience with Cloud Migration projects (GCP,AWS, Azure)
  • People Management Project Scope of at least 30 people.
  • Proven ability to learn business processes quickly and to work well with business partners at different levels within the organization
  • Strong ability to assess risk and apply management principles to technology applications/products and business functions

Nice-To-Have Skills:

  • Previous Financial Institution Experience an asset
  • Jira experience is an asset
  • Experience with Risk is an asset

Soft Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible/ adaptable in exercising judgment in a changing environment and to manage competing priorities
  • Great communication skills are required, as they will regularly be communicating internally and externally

Best vs Average: The ideal candidate would have a PMP/PMI and previous Application migration experience specifically with Cloud platforms.
Degrees or certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required (Technical fields preferred, although experience is more important)

  • Structure and Format: Two rounds (screening interview with HM + interview with project sponsors)

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$95.00 and CA$105.00
