Position Title: IT Project Manager
Location: Toronto, ON
Duration: 5 months

Story Behind the Need
Business group: Design and Digital Product, Commerce and Communications – any type of digital initiatives will be run from the department; driving technological innovations; focusing on service component to provide top customer service experience
Project: Viz ID Implementation – implementation of new brand to client digital assets – what is hosted on the website will be replaced with new brand styles, images and User Experience – rebranding the shop – project manager coordinating communications and implementation between stakeholders, design team and business line, engineers – project is in final discovery and planning phase and going into implementation phase (scope has been defined): running iterations and executing launch plans – will have multiple iteration batches until end of Nov 2024, next fiscal year will be another iteration of planning and discovery
The Project Manager oversees Commerce projects and coordinates the end-to-end execution while reporting to all stakeholders consistently on the latest progress of those project initiatives. This role requires an excellent ability to work closely with the project team, business line leaders, senior management, and diverse stakeholders to safeguard a flawless delivery experience.
Candidate Value Proposition:

This role has potential for great visibility across the bank; will be working on a high impact project from the get go so potential to convert to FTE as well and lead the project through the next phases in the upcoming fiscal year.
Typical Day in Role:

  • Project Delivery – Primarily responsible for planning and executing project WBS along with all coordination activities such as organizing requirement gathering discussions, kick-off, and daily/weekly project team meetings.
  • Progress Reporting – Manage overall reporting to ensure stakeholder visibility and transparency on the progress, risk, and action items. Track and provide forecasts to actual budget reports as required to the program manager and/or project sponsors.
  • Launch Coordination – Establish a solid launch plan and schedule for each project release including activity timetables, sign-off date/confirmation, emergency contact information, and backup scenarios.
  • Stakeholder Management – Actively build relationships with internal and external partners, ensuring a proper level of stakeholder engagement to drive value into project delivery accountabilities while deepening client relationships and leveraging broader bank relationships, systems, processes, and knowledge.
  • Continuous Improvement – Observes processes and proposes and executes improvements to continually improve PMO efficiency and effectiveness within client Digital and client.

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

  • 8+ years of experience as an IT Project Manager with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with at least one of these PM tools: Workfront; PMIS tools JIRA, confluence, MS suite – MS Project, Visio, PPT, Microsoft – please list which
  • Communication and reporting management experience – demonstrated hands-on experience creating and delivering communication and project reporting plans
  • Recent demonstrated experience with website-build projects on a CMS

Nice-To-Have Skills:

  • Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) experience – have used it as a PM on website build projects
  • PMP/PMI/Agile/CSM/CAPM certification (either or – please list which)

  • Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, challenging, and dynamic business environment
  • Results-focused, but understand that achieving results requires collaboration from business partners
  • Self-motivated; works both independently and collaboratively with multi-functional teams, as both a leader and team member
  • Superior critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Takes pride in being highly organized and staying ‘on top of it’

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business/commerce, or technical fields such as computer science, computer engineering, or related field required
  • PMP/PMI/Agile/CSM/CAPM certification an asset (either or – please list which)

Best VS. Average Candidate:
Need a strong communicator, not just having good technical skills but is able to manage stakeholder relationships, strong reporting experience; experience with website build projects; if have AEM experience would set them apart; don’t necessarily need someone who is purely strong in IT, doesn’t need someone who has done architecture or infrastructure management, need strong PM skills too
