Job Title – CAN – IT – Security Specialist V
Duration: 8 Months
Location: 310–320 Front Street West Corporate, Toronto, Ontario
Hybrid – 2 Days Onsite (Potential for 4 Days Onsite)

 


ROLE SUMMARY
The Security Metrics & Reporting Analyst is responsible for ongoing execution and maintenance of cybersecurity metrics, including KRIs, KPIs, and operational security performance measures.
This role supports consistent reporting across security domains by ensuring metrics are refreshed on schedule, validated for data quality, and delivered through dashboards and reporting packages for leadership and key stakeholders.
Focus is on business-as-usual (BAU) metrics operations including:

  • Data hygiene
  • Dashboard maintenance
  • Reporting production
  • Metric issue resolution

Partners closely with security domain teams, data owners, and analytics stakeholders.


TYPICAL DAY-TO-DAY

  • 25% of time spent in meetings
  • Interaction with internal partners only
  • No access to customer data

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Metrics Execution & Refresh Cycles

  • Execute recurring metric refresh processes (weekly, monthly, quarterly)
  • Maintain reporting calendars
  • Confirm metric owner inputs
  • Track completion, dependencies, and exceptions

Reporting & Dashboard Maintenance

  • Maintain dashboards (Power BI/Tableau), including:
    • Scheduled refresh validation
    • Visual checks and formatting consistency
    • Metric drill-down updates and annotations
  • Produce recurring executive and operational reporting packages

Data Quality & Validation

  • Perform variance analysis
  • Flag missing/delayed data
  • Validate logic (formulas, filters)
  • Document data quality issues
  • Coordinate with data owners
  • Maintain metric definitions and documentation

Metric Intake & Change Support

  • Support metric definition updates
  • Support threshold/limit changes
  • Support dashboard enhancements
  • Track change requests and governance approvals

Operational Support & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Serve as reporting contact point
  • Support narratives and talking points
  • Assist with audit support requests

  • On-time delivery of all metric refreshes

  • Documented and repeatable BAU reporting procedures

MUST-HAVE HARD SKILLS

  • 5+ years in reporting, analytics, operations, cybersecurity support, IT risk, or compliance
  • Excel (intermediate–advanced)
  • PowerPoint (clear reporting packages)
  • At least one dashboarding tool (Power BI / Tableau / Qlik preferred)

SOFT SKILLS

  • Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Comfortable managing recurring deliverables and deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to detect anomalies and errors
  • Strong negotiation skills

Cybersecurity Domains:

  • SOC / incident response metrics
  • Vulnerability metrics
  • IAM metrics (joiner/mover/leaver, access recertification, PAM coverage)
  • Security awareness / phishing metrics

Security Tooling Data Sources:

  • Splunk / Sentinel
  • Tenable / Qualys

Framework Knowledge:

  • NIST CSF
  • ISO 27001

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$100.00 and CA$112.00
