Bruce County, ON (Onsite)

About the Role
A major energy client in Bruce County is seeking IT Deployment Technicians to support a large-scale Windows 11 desktop lifecycle project on site. Approximately 3,000 desktops are being replaced across multiple buildings and facilities over the next several months. This is a hands-on, field-based role with clear daily direction and structured procedures. You will be working as part of a small team of technicians embedded with the client's IT field team, reporting to a First Line Manager on site.
What You'll Be Doing
- Imaging and re-imaging computers at an on-site depot following established step-by-step procedures
- Physically transporting and swapping desktops across site buildings using a daily list of machines flagged for replacement
- Locating machines by barcode, removing old units, and installing replacements at workstations throughout the facility
- Completing a post-install validation checklist to confirm devices are fully functional before handoff
- Tracking asset tags, device assignments, and swap records to support reporting and audit requirements
- Supporting end users during and after device swaps, including troubleshooting basic login, network, and application issues
What You Bring
- Hands-on experience with PC imaging, reimaging, or bare-metal builds
- Comfort with hardware installation including desktops, docking stations, and peripherals
- Ability to follow detailed technical procedures and validation checklists accurately
- Basic troubleshooting skills for post-swap issues (domain join, network connectivity, user login)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume, organized field work
- Physical capability to move equipment and work at workstations throughout a large industrial site
- Comfort working in a secure, regulated industrial environment
Requirements
- Active Government of Canada security clearance (required, no exceptions)
- Local to the Bruce County area (on-site role, no per diem provided)
Nice to Have
- Prior experience working in a regulated or industrial facility
- Familiarity with asset management and depot workflow in a large-scale deployment
- Experience with Windows 11 build validation (OS version, BitLocker, domain join, app deployment)
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$30.00 and CA$40.00
