IT Asset Management Analyst
Responsibilities:
- Organizes, analyzes and maintains asset information to establish an accurate and complete repository and to track software and hardware assets throughout their lifecycle;
- Analyses and reports on asset usage when contracts are nearing completion to determine if license and support should be renewed; makes recommendations to renew licenses or terminate contracts, based on results of analysis (e.g. usage, cost effectiveness, etc.);
- Assists with the establishment and implementation of standardized global IT Asset Management (ITAM) policies, processes and procedures to foster/ensure compliance with contract requirements; manages ongoing maintenance of procedures;
- Conducts and reports asset reconciliation and audit activities related to license compliance requirements, including financial, licensing, warranty information; implements audit recommendations/findings to ensure compliance is met;
- Provide appropriate data to ITAM Ordering & Contract Coordinator for processing procurement requisitions. Analyze trends and market conditions for present and future company requirements of software and hardware assets.
- Compare warranties, maintenance agreements, and vendor contracts to assist with asset upkeep, upgrades, repair, and replacement. Communicate asset lifecycle changes such as end of life – support, retirement with identified risks and options to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
- Maintains information in a database format to address budgeting, compliance and inventory, contracts and costs and assists in the development of reporting to address management requirements for information and composes relevant reports to support management decision-making;
- Continuously monitors performance of existing processes, recommending solutions and implementing process efficiencies where required and research industry best practices and compare against the organization’s practices in order to establish benchmarks for managing IT assets.
- Prepares workflows/procedures to ensure new/updated process is integrated into operational environment
- Provides support for I&IT Operations related projects as required
Required Skills:
- Effectively convey qualitative & quantitative information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Working experience with the ServiceNow® product, and in particular, an advanced user of ServiceNow® Software Asset Management Professional (SAMPRO).
- At least 2-3+ years of professional working experience with Software Asset Management at or for large organization(s)
- At least 2+ years of professional working experience on managing software licensing agreements and compliance, including interpreting licensing terms and conditions, conducting audits, renewals, and negotiations.
Desired Skills:
- Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel to create/modify pivot tables; create dashboards; clean data; working with large data sets & occasionally consolidating data from multiple sources.
- Proficient with infrastructure software; having experience managing large, complex infrastructure vendors like IBM, Microsoft, VMWare, Oracle
- Familiar with ServiceNow® Discovery Tools & the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
- Exceptional analytical, research, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Can adapt to working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Completion of International Association of Information Technology Asset Managers (IAITAM) Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) is an asset.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between Non 45.00 and Non 63.00
