What You Will Be Working On

  • You will be a generator of formatted data, mostly numerical,  for the use by your supervisor and the rest of the management team.
  • Downloading data and manipulating it in excel. 
  • Taking subsets or summaries of the data and putting it into a presentation format (Powerpoint, Word, pdfs).
  • Comparing ‘actuals’ to planned values.
  • Collecting and curating content prepared by both self and others –  various logs and action lists and expositions.
  • Following an already prescribed format drafts weekly and monthly executive level progress reports.
  • Proofreading materials for mathematical and reference document accuracy,  and grammar,  prior to submission.
  • Monitoring that deliverables are being completed.
  • Being a major part of the team ensuring company processes are followed for all topics including change management and expenditure approval.
  • Assisting in providing monthly project accruals and forecasts to Finance.
  • Participating in enhancements to project controls processes and procedures.
  • Identifying  cost and schedule issues and risks, and suggests or participates in plans to overcome those challenges.

Requirements:

  • A fundamental comfort level and understanding of  mathematics and statistics demonstrated through a ‘numbers front and center’ formal education.  Examples Accounting diploma, commerce degree, sciences.    
  • Excellent excel skills.  Familiar with vlookups, pivot tables, graphing, formatting for clear presentations.
  • Experience and ability to use other standard office tools (MS Word, PowerPoint, acrobat)
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Great computer foundational skills – meaning good typing speed, great typing accuracy, ability to follow the pattern of what they already know how to do within the software to expand that knowledge through exploring other features of it.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities, capable of handling pressure and challenges
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve them
  • Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, presentation and problem-solving skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal and English communication skills
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals; ability to work in challenging, fast paced environment

Nice to have:

  • Previous experience in data collection and analysis.
  • Experience and ability to use the following:
  • Cost Control Systems and Applications
  • Planning and scheduling tools (Primavera)
  • Experience in project controls
  • Accounting / Auditing background
  • The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$25.00 and CA$35.00
