We are currently hiring a Linux DevOps Engineer for a 12-month full time fixed term contract to join our team to actively support Security hardening of our NATO deployed mission planning and Situational Awareness product.
Your Role:
- Analyze and evaluate customer security requirements.
- Configure and harden RHEL Linux VM images to be deployed in VM and bare metal environments.
- Ensure all deployments meet strict NATO security and operational standards.
- Design and develop custom docker images for existing opensource applications (which require additional modifications from publicly available images.)
- Streamline software deployment processes and configurations to support the SDLC and on-site deployments.
- Design and document all deployment infrastructure.
- Must be either a Canadian citizen, or permanent resident of Canada, have lived in Canada for 10+ years, and not have a criminal record
- 5+ years of experience in similar role
- Expert knowledge of RedHat Enterprise Linux administration, deployment, and networking.
- Expert knowledge of Alpine Linux administration, deployment, and networking.
- Expert knowledge in network security.
- Expert knowledge in Linux system security hardening and vulnerability management.
- Expert knowledge in Docker with proficiency in – deploying, securing / hardening, and building containerized applications.
- Knowledge of security controls/mechanisms and threat/risk assessment techniques pertaining to containers and container management.
- Solid Linux scripting experience (Base, Python, etc)
- Solid Linux troubleshooting experience.
- Solid experience with VMWare and other virtualization technologies.
- Experience with configuring PostgreSQL and PostgreSQL extensions (PostGIS and TimescaleDB).
- Experience with deploying Redis on RHEL.
- Familiarity with open-source development tools and methodologies.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$120,000 and CA$130,000
