Job Title: Manager, Collections Strategy
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

What You Will Be Doing As the Manager, Collection Strategy, you will play a key role in the success of Collections by developing, optimizing, and implementing collection strategies to maximize recoveries and dollars collected – ensuring alignment with the bank’s credit loss and operational experience targets.
Your focus will be on maximizing the effectiveness of collection activities while ensuring processes are efficient, client-focused, data-driven, and compliant with relevant regulations.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Lead a team responsible for implementing collection strategies to improve customer contact rates, dollars collected, and recoveries, while minimizing costs.
- Develop, optimize, and implement data-driven collection strategies – including contact methods (SMS, email, IVR, live calls), agency placements, and outsourcing – aligned with operational goals.
- Leverage analytics to determine tailored strategies based on risk, balance, and delinquency stage.
- Implement changes using champion/challenger methodologies to measure the effectiveness of strategies.
- Monitor collection strategy performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and continuously refine strategies based on data-driven insights.
- Drive continuous improvements in strategy effectiveness with a focus on incremental profitability.
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performance environment, implementing a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates your team.
Skills :
- A diploma or degree in Business, Finance, Data Analytics or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in collections operations, analytics or strategy
- Ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies
- Strong skills with reporting tools, data analysis and KPI tracking
- Ability to present insights and recommendations clearly utilizing presentation software (i.e. PowerPoint)
- Proficiency in Collections Workflow Systems (i.e. Debt Manager, CACS)
- Proficiency in Big Query, SAS, SQL or similar applications
- Proficiency Looker Studio is an asset
- Industry experience in banking is an asset
- Aptitude for innovation and readiness to “roll up sleeves” and do what is necessary to
- deliver on business objectives
- Strong capability to work with cross functional team members and collaborate effectively in n high pressure environments
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$90,000 and CA$110,000
