What you’ll do
The Manager, Network Services oversees the core platforms and foundational services that power the enterprise network, including firewalls, load balancers, DNS/IPAM, remote access, automation, and observability. This role ensures that network services are reliable, secure, and designed for scale across both data center and cloud environments.
Leading the Network Services Squad and Automation & Observability Squad, this manager drives operational excellence through automation, telemetry, and disciplined change management — delivering highly available, cost-efficient, and modernized network services to the organization.
Strategic and Technical Leadership
• Lead the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of F5 load balancers, Palo Alto firewalls, Infoblox DNS/IPAM, Juniper Global Protect remote access, and NTP infrastructure.
• Oversee enterprise-wide observability and monitoring tools (SolarWinds and related platforms) to ensure complete visibility across network and security services.
• Champion network-as-code and automation practices across configuration, deployment, and validation workflows using Python-based tooling, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Collaborate with the AVP, Network and Security Services, and peers in Network Platforms to define and implement an integrated architecture that spans on-prem, cloud, and edge environments.
• Drive modernization and cost optimization, eliminating redundancy and simplifying toolsets where possible.
Infrastructure Operations
• Ensure uptime and performance of all network services, with proactive observability and predictive alerting.
• Manage load balancing architectures (F5) supporting multi-tier and hybrid applications.
• Oversee Palo Alto firewalls and global policy management to protect corporate, retail, and cloud environments.
• Maintain Infoblox DNS/DHCP/IPAM platforms, including integration with automation and orchestration frameworks.
• Support and evolve remote access services (Juniper Global Protect) to enable secure, scalable connectivity for staff and partners.
• Maintain reliable NTP services to ensure synchronization across enterprise systems.
• Develop and maintain automated operational playbooks for configuration drift, backup validation, and failover testing.
Team Leadership
• Lead a team of engineers and specialists responsible for network services, automation, and observability.
• Foster a collaborative and technically rigorous culture focused on ownership, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Mentor engineers in scripting, automation, and analytics to advance the organization’s “automate-first” mindset.
Automation, Observability, and Continuous Improvement
• Oversee the Automation and Observability Squad, driving maturity in both areas.
• Expand automation coverage for provisioning, configuration, and incident response, reducing manual effort and human error.
• Define telemetry and metrics frameworks that provide actionable insights into performance, capacity, and reliability.
• Partner with platform and security teams to automate compliance and change validation workflows.
• Continuously improve monitoring fidelity and reduce noise to enable faster detection and resolution of issues.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management
• Manage relationships with vendors and service providers supporting network services and monitoring tools.
• Ensure consistent application of configuration standards and security policies across managed service partners.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to align network service delivery with business priorities and emerging needs.
What you bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 8–10 years of experience in network services, automation, or infrastructure engineering, including 3+ years in a leadership or team lead role.
• Hands-on experience with:
• F5 (LTM/GTM) load balancing and application delivery.
• Palo Alto Networks firewalls and Panorama management.
• Infoblox DNS, DHCP, and IPAM.
• Juniper Global Protect for remote access.
• SolarWinds or comparable network observability tools.
• Proficiency in Python, Ansible, or Terraform for automation and configuration management.
• Experience building or managing infrastructure-as-code pipelines for network and security services.
• Familiarity with Azure networking and hybrid-cloud security concepts.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• A commitment to automation, visibility, and continuous operational improvement.
