Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer (P.Eng.) to support heavy mechanical equipment projects in a regulated industrial environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for engineering design, calculations, equipment assessments, and equipment removal and replacement activities, while providing technical support throughout project execution.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical engineering design and analysis for heavy mechanical equipment projects.
- Prepare, review, and approve engineering calculations, technical reports, and design packages.
- Develop engineering solutions for equipment replacement, refurbishment, and upgrade projects.
- Support equipment removal, rigging, dismantling, transportation, installation, and commissioning activities.
- Conduct mechanical assessments and evaluations of existing equipment and systems.
- Prepare technical specifications, scope documents, and engineering change documentation.
- Perform load calculations and engineering assessments related to lifting, transportation, supports, and installation.
- Coordinate with project teams, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Provide field engineering support during construction and execution phases.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and quality requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario.
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical engineering experience in heavy industrial, utilities, power generation, manufacturing, mining, or similar environments.
- Valid security clearance.
- Experience preparing and reviewing engineering calculations and technical analyses.
- Experience with heavy mechanical equipment installation, removal, replacement, or refurbishment projects.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, material handling equipment, and industrial machinery.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical standards.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and stress assessments.
- Experience developing lifting and rigging plans and supporting heavy lifts.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD and plant design software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$60.00 and CA$75.00
