Mechanical Drafter-P&ID

Location: Onsite in Sheridan, TX

– First Month Training onsite in Downtown Houston Location

Position Overview:

Our Client is seeking a Mechanical Drafter-P&ID to support SPID conversion efforts. This role involves onsite work, including field relines on P&IDs according to Our Client’s SPID standards, as well as handling redlines across multiple disciplines. The drafter will collaborate closely with a multi-discipline team, including Project Managers, Design Engineers, Design Managers, Design Supervisors, and fellow Drafters, utilizing AutoCAD and CADWorx software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of P&ID symbols and terminology.
  • Work as part of a team with operations, project managers, and the design team to create various types of CADD drawing packages.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with coworkers, operations, and engineering department personnel.
  • Assist in developing complete drawing packages in accordance with Our Client’s standard drawing format.
  • Create and modify a range of drawings, including P&IDs, plot plans, and diagrams.
  • Ensure complete drawing packages are prepared for IFA (Issued for Approval), IFB (Issued for Bid), and IFC (Issued for Construction) stages, adhering to Our Client’s standards.
  • Utilize raster-editing software as needed.
  • Provide field sketches for piping design and work with x-ref supported drawing files.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Document Management Systems.
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Select materials for piping and components to meet established design requirements.
  • Interpret and comply with piping design standards and specifications.
  • Understand spacing requirements for equipment and piping layout.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with the function of measurement equipment and process piping.
  • Understand the operations of Midstream Pipeline Facilities.
  • Use industry terminology, material nomenclature, specifications, symbology, and acronyms in work-related outputs.
  • Work independently in a facility environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested.

Position Requirements and Skills:

  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience with a degree, or 7 to 10 years of experience without a degree.
  • At least 2 to 5 years of experience in Midstream Design.
  • Proficient in 3D and 2D pipeline design software (e.g., CADWorx, AutoCAD 3D, Civil 3D, AutoCAD Electrical).
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.

 

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is between $32.00 and $42.00
