Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Role Overview
This position involves applying core mechanical engineering principles to the development, assembly, and validation of equipment and modular process systems. The successful candidate will contribute to design efforts, support fabrication and testing activities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver complete engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply engineering fundamentals to support the design, build, and evaluation of mechanical systems and skid-mounted equipment.
- Contribute to design execution, fabrication support, and testing phases while working alongside multidisciplinary teams.
- Develop comprehensive engineering documentation such as layout drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams, calculations (e.g., structural or load-related), specifications, and material lists.
- Create and maintain 2D and 3D models using industry-standard design tools (e.g., CAD platforms).
- Produce detailed test plans and procedures for system verification and acceptance testing in alignment with internal quality standards.
- Perform sizing and selection of mechanical components such as pumps, vessels, motors, and thermal systems.
- Lead or support troubleshooting, investigations, and validation efforts related to manufactured components and assembled systems.
- Coordinate with vendors, constructors, and stakeholders throughout all project stages—from concept through completion—to ensure requirements are met.
- Review supplier deliverables including drawings and procedures, and participate in inspections or site visits as needed.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (e.g., controls, software) to ensure integrated system design.
- Provide technical direction or mentorship within project teams when required.
- Maintain effective communication with clients and internal stakeholders to support project delivery and satisfaction.
- Support procurement-related engineering tasks, including resolving quality concerns and maintaining schedules.
- Assist with proposal development and other business support activities.
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Experience & Qualifications
- Background in mechanical system design, fabrication processes, and testing activities
- Exposure to development of complex equipment or testing systems is advantageous
- Familiarity with applicable engineering codes and standards
- Understanding of quality assurance frameworks used in regulated industries
- Experience working within structured quality environments is preferred
- Strong technical writing and presentation capabilities
- Degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical, or related discipline) or equivalent experience
- Typically requires several years of relevant industry experience
- Professional engineering designation (or eligibility) is expected
- Ability to obtain required security clearances for regulated work environments
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$60.00 and CA$90.00
