Mechanical Quality Specialist 
Job Location: Pickering, ON
Job Duration: 12-month contract to start
Position Summary

The Mechanical Quality Inspector is responsible for performing incoming, in-process, and final inspections on nuclear components, materials, and equipment received from various vendors and suppliers. This role ensures compliance with engineering specifications, nuclear quality standards, client requirements, and applicable codes throughout warehouse receiving, fabrication, and shipment activities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final mechanical inspections.
  • Verify components, materials, dimensions, welds, and documentation against drawings, specifications, and purchase orders.
  • Conduct correct component verification and maintain material traceability.
  • Create and review Mechanical Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Review vendor quality documentation including MTRs, COCs, weld records, and inspection reports.
  • Complete and submit History Docket packages to Bruce Power Quality Department.
  • Coordinate and support TSSA and ANI inspections.
  • Perform source surveillance and vendor inspections as required.
  • Identify, document, and report non-conforming materials or quality issues.
  • Support proper handling, storage, preservation, and segregation of nuclear materials within the warehouse.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable QA programs, ASME, CSA, TSSA, and client requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • CWB Level I or II Certified or CWB Supervisor Certified minimum.
  • OPG Security Clearance.
  • Experience in mechanical inspection within nuclear, power generation, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and quality documentation.
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, material traceability, and nuclear documentation requirements.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$60.00 and CA$90.00
