Specific Accountabilities
General Accountabilities:

  • Recognizes and reacts to abnormal conditions associated with duties.
  • Completes reports accurately and completely.
  • Consistently works in a safe, responsible manner and actively participates in safety-related programs.
  • Actively participates as a work group team member and maintains a cooperative work relationship with fellow employees.
  • Performs work in compliance with Company policies/procedures as well as external regulatory bodies through adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals.
  • No formal supervision exercised by this position; however, role may be required to provide basic guidance to contractors or less experienced employees

Core Job Duties:

  • Test, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot meters, pressure regulators, control valves, relief valves, pneumatic control devices, RTUs, EGM systems, and gas analyzers.
  • Perform routine maintenance on an odorizer, set injection rates, and report usage and concentration.
  • Operate and maintain power supply systems.
  • Identify pipe, valves, and fittings using measurement devices.
  • Ensure electrical installations meet applicable codes and standards.
  • Install small diameter instrument piping and tubing.
  • Use test and inspection equipment to verify and calibrate instruments.
  • Operate and maintain in-line heaters.
  • Perform basic tests and inspections.
  • Complete reports accurately and completely.
  • Write gas handling procedures.
  • On occasion, can direct other employees in routine measurement-related activities.
  • Assist in planning work and contributing budget-related information.

Performs other duties as required and as qualified for, which may include tasks in electrical controls, equipment operation, measurement, telecommunications, mechanical technician, and operations technician roles, depending on business needs and operational requirements.

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of directly relevant training and experience.
  • Must demonstrate a detailed understanding of Safety Policies and Procedures and act in accordance with them at all times.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills demonstrated through training, formal education, and/or experience.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing to collect and relay basic facts.
  • Willing to assist with more complex tasks, equipment and procedures
  • Able to work with significant independence
  • Proficient in the use of standard office software applications.
  • Able to work and contribute to a team environment where inclusiveness, integrity, honesty, and openness are valued.

Core Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Associate degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Possesses the desire to learn and advance, as a Measurement and Electrical Technician.
  • Working knowledge of operations used in the maintenance of these facilities.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily field-oriented (outdoor) with specific office (indoor) functions for training, meetings, and documentation of required tasks dictated by the Department of Transportation and other regulatory agencies for which company must comply.
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding activities in all types of weather conditions.
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends, shift, on call & standby, and travel overnight as required.
  • Currently resides or is willing to relocate within 30 miles of the assigned reporting location.

Physical Requirements       
Include but are not limited to Grasping, kneeling, light-moderate lifting (objects up to 50 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read the fine print), hearing requirement.  Mobility to walk in outdoor conditions that occasionally involve uneven and slippery terrain and to enter and exit excavations.  Agility can ascend and descend ladders, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and other devices using feet, legs, and/or hands and arms.
Mental Requirements
Include but are not limited to the Ability to: understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information; understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions; organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology; organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
 

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is between $20.00 and $24.00
