Job Title: Microsoft Fabric Administrator (Power BI Data Engineer)

Microsoft Fabric Administrator – Microsoft Purview & Power BI
The Client’s Enterprise Solution Services, and the Technical Solution Services team are responsible for onboarding, implementing and administering the Microsoft Fabric environment to enable enterprise-wide data analytics using Power BI. Key responsibilities include architecting and deploying Fabric components such as Power BI, Lakehouse, and real-time analytics; configuring workspaces and capacities; integrating Microsoft Purview for governance; developing governance frameworks and change control processes; designing chargeback models; training staff; and ensuring scalability and future readiness. Deliverables encompass a fully configured Fabric environment supporting multiple data sources, On-Premises to Cloud integration, Cloud to Cloud integration, governance documentation, IT service management procedures, usage tracking dashboards, training materials, and a strategic scalability roadmap.
Assignment Duties
Provide technical leadership and is responsible for the delivery of the technical architectural design, strategies and plans on an ongoing basis
Architect and deploy Microsoft Fabric components, including Power BI, Lakehouse, Data Engineering, and Real-Time Analytics.
Providing technical expertise and full life cycle management of respective technologies including but not limited to planning, designing, building, testing, implementation, supporting, maintaining, proactively monitoring, optimizing and reporting.
Configure workspaces, domains, and capacities to support departmental analytics requirements.
Fully configure Fabric environment with Lakehouse, Real-Time Analytics, and Power BI workspaces, for production and non-production environments
Integrate APIs using a Service Principal Name (SPN) approach to enable automated deployment, governance, and administrative functions.
Establish secure and compliant connectivity to both on-premises and cloud-based data sources, adhering to enterprise standards.
Develop and document governance frameworks for Microsoft Fabric usage, data access, and workspace lifecycle management.
Enable and document Service Principle authentication in Fabric and Azure.
Recommends, designs and implements appropriate Role Based Access Controls for Fabric in order to scale for enterprise deployment
Define and implement change control processes for solution deployment and updates across multiple environments.
Design and operationalize enterprise-grade Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes for divisional clients, leveraging Fabric artifacts, CI/CD pipelines, and data engineering best practices.
Document change control procedures for deployments and updates.
Design and implement monitoring and reporting solutions to track departmental usage of Fabric resources.
Provides recommendations, designs and implements orchestration using MS API libraries and various approaches to achieve automation in order to streamline sustainment processes.
Collaborate with Finance and IT teams to define, document, and operationalize a chargeback model aligned with organizational policies.
Deliver training sessions to internal administrative and technical staff on Microsoft Fabric administration, workspace configuration, user access management, and governance protocols.
• Develop comprehensive documentation and runbooks to support ongoing operations and scalability.
• Ensure the Microsoft Fabric environment is scalable and capable of integrating future offerings and enhancements.
• Provide strategic recommendations for expanding Fabric capabilities across the enterprise to support evolving business needs.

Qualifications
Expert knowledge and extensive implementation experience with Microsoft Fabric for a large scale enterprise client, including hands-on implementation of Power BI, Lakehouse, Data Engineering, and Real-Time Analytics components.
Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 and Azure ecosystems, including workspace configuration, domain management, and capacity planning.
Proficiency in API integration and automation, particularly using Service Principal Name (SPN) for deployment, governance, and administrative tasks.
Demonstrated experience with enterprise data connectivity, including secure integration with on-premises and cloud-based data sources.
Expertise in governance and change management, with a track record of developing frameworks and SDLC processes aligned with industry best practices.
Experience designing and implementing chargeback models, including usage tracking and financial collaboration.
Strong training and documentation skills, with the ability to transfer knowledge effectively to internal teams and create scalable support materials.
Strategic mindset with a focus on scalability and future readiness, capable of guiding enterprise-wide expansion of Microsoft Fabric capabilities.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively on multiple tasks and projects under high service demands and time constraints.
Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate, Power BI certifications, or Azure Data certifications are considered an asset.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$80.00 and CA$90.00
